Romantic Home in English Country Style

Last week I asked what type of homes you’d like to see featured here on my blog every Sunday. The first person to respond said she loves traditional decor with a bit of romance thrown in. I think I’ve found a beautiful romantic home decorated in English country style that fits the bill!

The kitchen opens up to a gorgeous sun room. Plenty of details are featured on the kitchen cabinetry but I’m more smitten with the sheep figurines above the stove. Now I’m going to be hunting for a similar pair for my own kitchen!

I have always loved small prints on fabric so cafe curtains are tugging at my heart strings. It reminds me of when I used to make all of my own window coverings. Choosing fabric was so much fun!

The English country style living room reveals more patterns on drapes and furniture in soft colors. The natural stone fireplace and mantel lend an old world vibe.

A colorful braided runner leads up the stairway with its unique spiral posts and rustic beam overhead. Perhaps the rooster is standing watch to announce the morning sun to slumbering folks upstairs.

You’ll find plenty of feminine details in this pink bedroom with floral fabrics. The mix of prints, upholstered headboard, and beamed ceiling gives the room an elegant and romantic look.

Soak in the garden tub surrounded by windows to give the feeling of bathing outdoors. Cafe curtains can be pulled for privacy. The patterned wallpaper reminds me of some of my earliest wallpaper choices when decorating my first two homes.

In another little cove of the bathroom is a pretty vanity for morning primping.

  1. I am a chicken nut! My kitchen features a variety of chicken themed decor. Did you notice the curtains by the sink had chickens on them? I was trying to see closer, but I think the living room curtains are squares with chickens. I might be right on that because you also see the framed rooster print by the stairs and the same fabric there.. I wonder if these people raise chickens? 😀 Beautiful home!!
