Cabin Style Decorating Ideas
This past Sunday I featured a beautiful cabin style home and it occurred to me to follow up with a post about decorating ideas to achieve the look. Cabin style is a cozy, comfortable style with roots in nature. You don’t need log walls to get the look, although it certainly helps. (This post contains affiliate links.)
A stone fireplace immediately calls to mind the rusticity of a cabin in the woods. Adding a thick, natural wood shelf as a mantel takes it to the next level.
Even an elegant, tufted Chesterfield sofa gets the cabin touch with a rustic wood coffee table, a furry throw, and warm and fuzzy pillows.
Cabin living isn’t relegated to the mountains only. Think of summer cabins next to the lake with planked walls and flooring. Add natural, authentic elements like seashells and rope for a seaside vibe.
This cabin style kitchen makes full use of natural elements, from the walls to the windows and cabinets.
A valance over a kitchen sink is made from grain sack fabric. Wood paneled walls are left in their natural state, complete with visible nail holes.
A long barn board acts as a table runner in this small cabin with painted planked walls and natural wood shelves.
If you do have natural wood planks on your walls, consider adding a bit of softness with print fabric at the windows. Vintage touches like an old radio and stoneware crock in the corner are good additions, too.
A bedroom gets cozy cabin style with a large stone fireplace and wood ceiling. A beautiful view of snowy conifers out the window make the space feel even more warm and comfortable.
An old poster bed looks like it has a feather mattress in this log cabin bedroom with painted wood floors and log walls. Ticking stripe adds a touch of prairie living.
A Scandinavian cabin gets a bit of softness with white faux fur rugs underfoot.

OMG, I would love to spend a night in that large master bedroom with the tall windows and that huge roaring fire. Beautiful post, Jennifer. Thank you.
Thanks for the link to Cabin Style. Did you see that one bed with the unusual barrel-shaped canopy frame?!
I love the atmosphere of cabins and they do always seem so warm and cozy.
Hmm…so nice. Thank you.
The bedroom with that stone fireplace! Wow! I want to stay there all winter long and never leave. Someone else can maintain the burning warm fire:0)
