Charming Home Tour ~ The Lilypad Cottage

Whenever I tour Kelly’s home at The LilyPad Cottage, my spirits are immediately lifted and I’m put in a good mood. Her home is bright, beautiful, and livable. Kelly’s a lucky girl because her home is situated lakeside. You’ll see a beach theme reflected throughout her decor and I know you’ll find it such a pleasure to visit!

Beauty starts curbside at Kelly’s house. In the summer, her flower boxes are overflowing with petunias in cool colors. I love the two-tone color of her home that showcases the two types of exterior siding.

 

As soon as you set foot inside the front door, you’re greeted with a lakeside theme in the entryway. Cool blues are dotted with a few splashes of red, while oars mounted on the wall hint at the lake out back.

 

Dark chocolate floors set off the dining room with its wall of windows allowing you to enjoy the views outside while enjoying a home cooked meal. Did you notice the mason jar light fixture overhead? You’ll find touches of whimsy throughout Kelly’s charming home.

 

Kelly has lots of windows in her home and I love how the uppermost kitchen cabinets mimic the panes of the windows. Metal bar stools provide additional seating for diners.

 

The living room is relaxed and comfortable, pairing blue with neutrals.

 

Behind the wicker chairs is a warm and cozy fireplace.

 

Kelly recently gave her laundry room a makeover, in navy and white.

A pretty and functional space that makes a mundane task a whole lot more enjoyable!

 

Soft tones create a restful master bedroom. Rustic baskets provide additional storage underneath the bed. The round windows on either side of the bed give a nod to portholes in a boat.

 

A large soaker tub takes center stage in the master bathroom.  Note how the circles on the floor tile match the circles in the fixture above the bath. A clever touch!

 

The nautical style in Kelly’s home continues into her son’s bedroom.

A whimsical banner decorates the planked wall behind the bed.

 

Oh … I am so in love with her girl’s bedroom!! From the pink iron bed to the wispy canopy, to the beautiful floral wallpaper and soft paint colors. Sigh.  This room makes me wish I was a little girl again!

 

Now that you’ve seen the kids’ rooms, it’s time to see the playroom!

A cozy tent tempts young imaginations to run wild and free.

 

We started this tour outside at the front door, we’ll end it outside at the back of the house. Kelly created a warming fire pit on the patio, complete with Adirondack chairs and nautical style striped pillows.

 

And now for the pièce de résistance … the lake where Kelly’s home resides.
