Charming Orange County Cottage: Southern California Bliss!
A cozy Orange County cottage by Pure Salt Interiors embraces a light and airy vibe inside that’s clean and uncluttered. This home has so many charms that makes it appealing in more ways than one. Inside and out, it’s a delight to behold.
The charm starts at the curb with the little peaked roof, the bay window, and an inviting place to sit and watch the world go by. Note how the little side window opens up.
A charming Dutch door leads into the living room with wood floors and comfy furniture in natural fabrics and textures. An expansive built-in bookcase provides ample space for showing off collectibles, plants, and books.
The Orange County cottage incorporates plenty of textures like the soft linen sofa, the nubby sisal rug, the nubby fabric on the ottoman and pillows, and the smooth softness of the plants. When you’re decorating with a monochromatic color scheme, texture is a great way to add depth and interest to a room.
A vaulted ceiling lends a sense of spaciousness in the breakfast nook that cozies up to built-in cabinetry.
French doors from the breakfast nook lead out to a pretty patio where you can enjoy your morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
Time to head into the pretty kitchen, which is small but very functional. This is the type of kitchen I prefer. Actually, the entire cottage is what I prefer. Not too big, not too small. Just enough space to live comfortably. Plus I always love the mix of wood and white, with a little bit of metal finishes tossed in.
The dining room keeps the subdued color palette and enjoys beautiful wood flooring. Why cover them up with a rug? A pretty rattan pendant light is framed by the little bay window with linen Roman shades.
The bedroom is light and airy with minimal furnishings. The bedding looks luxurious and super comfy.
Back outside, you can enjoy all the sunshine that southern California has to offer on the charming deck that’s shaded by trees and plants.
Even the dog enjoys laying outside on a sunny day, shaded under the small porch with the Dutch door.

This appears to be two different kitchens. Both attractive, but one with a dishwasher and one without?
I noticed the same thing about the kitchen (kitchens) displayed in this house tour.
Those rounded dining chairs are fabulous and I have never seen old or new any chairs like them. Have you? The windows over the kitchen sink is amazing. Thank you for sharing such an interesting post.
This one just might be my all time favourite!
Linda is correct. This is 2 kitchens – one had the dishwasher directly beside the sink on the left side with floating shelves above. In the second one, the refrigerator is directly beside the sink and of course no floating shelving .
