Today’s charming suburban home is the perfect example of how to marry comfort and beauty for today’s busy lifestyle. Courtney at Golden Boys and Me proves her resourcefulness as she leads you through DIY projects in her home … some of which are truly genius. I love her sense of style and use of color. She’s created a warm and welcoming haven in which to relax and enjoy!

Where there once was a wall, she opened the space and added a kitchen island created with Ikea’s Billy bookcases. I would’ve never thought to do this but love the idea. What a great way to add more storage space in the kitchen.

 

On the other side of the bookshelves-turned-island are these gorgeous barstools.

Fancy corbels support an extended countertop for dining.

 

Adjacent to the kitchen is the newly redecorated living room.

Did you see all the wooden logs tucked within the fireplace mantel? Love it!!

 

Beautiful curtains frame the dining room windows, where you’ll see the same wooden floors.

A pretty chandelier adds yet another pretty detail.

 

Courtney has added color in her master bedroom with a gorgeous quilt.

  

And I do believe she has one of the most amazing master bathrooms in blogland.

Courtney’s bathroom has all the modern amenities, with a touch of vintage in the soaking tub.

 

If you don’t feel like soaking in the tub, you can take a dip in the pool instead.

You don’t need to go on a vacation when you can enjoy a charming suburban home like Courtney’s!
