Nighttime Country Style Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to my nighttime Christmas home tour!  If you’re a regular reader, you’ve already seen parts of my country style Christmas home during the day. I’ve never done a nighttime tour so this is a first for me!

Don’t you love the magical glow of Christmas in the evening – especially right when the sun is setting?

My Christmas tree is always the best part of decorating my home for the holidays. It sets the theme and style for the rest of the decorations.

I started taking photos around 4 p.m. just as the sun was beginning to set. I’ve never taken photos of an entire evening tour and was worried I wouldn’t do a good job with the lighting.

My vintage brown bottles create a festive display with a sprig of greenery.

Upstairs, my under-the-eaves bedroom got a few Christmas touches this year. The large painting in the hallway used to be in my sitting room. It fits perfect here in the upstairs hall.

Furry pom pom throws from Pottery Barn are available for layering on chilly nights. These are my favorite throws – they’re so soft and warm!

Seeing all the cozy pillows and throws makes me want to crawl into bed for a long winter’s nap!

You might remember this little tree in our family room. It looks so cheery at night!

The wooden rocking reindeer was a find from HomeGoods last year.

Little snow globe ornaments hang on this sweet tree.

Each one has a different scene.

Moving on, it’s been a while since I showed my bath room with the claw foot tub. We painted the tub and the upper half of the walls a semi-dark gray.

A trio of tins with creamy poinsettias line the shelf.

A cedar balsam candle makes the bathroom smell just like a fresh Christmas tree. I get one of these from a local boutique every year.

Night has fully descended upon the house, allowing me to get a few more photos of the Christmas tree.

I love the reflection of the lights in the window, creating a magical sparkle in the room.

  1. Absolutely beautiful, Jen! I thought that I was looking at Romantic Homes or Country Living magazine!! What a peaceful environment, inside and out, you have created. It reflects the Lord in your life.

  2. I always read but don’t usually comment. I loved the night tour, you captured blue light at night, very pretty. The house looks wonderful, Happy Holidays.

  3. I love all of your Christmas decor! With all the rave about “flocked” trees this year, I wonder if everyone has gone out to buy new trees, or if some people have done their own flocking! They are so beautiful…Thanks for sharing.

  4. I love the rocking reindeer! I have a dimmer switch on my tree lights so I can adjust the brightness. Love the farm animals with garland above your bed also!

  5. I love your home decorated in the evening, Jennifer! This year I ended up photographing my living room in the evening as it is when it gets the best light currently. We are looking at a home which will get beautiful morning light, but that’s still a ways off. 😉 Happily pinned a bunch of photos for you and our readers. <3

    Holiday blessings to you,
    Barb 🙂

  6. Your photos and accompanying commentary was so wonderful, I didn’t even go on to other blog tours. Yours was all I needed to see. Your home must feel like living in a dream this year. It is just so perfectly cozy and heartwarming. You’ve done an amazing job and are an inspiration to the rest of us.

  7. Those bells on the trim around the window by the tree are Camel bells..at least thats what my mother told me…that is what they put on camels..I saw those and instant smile.. great work Jen even though I am just looking at it almost a yr later…the night pics were the best out of all them..more MAGICAL!!

  8. It was so nice to see your bedroom and bathroom – rooms we seldom see. They are just as warm and inviting as is the rest of your home. Your evening photography was spot on. I’d say you’ve mastered that just fine. It’s all good.

  9. Your home looks totally different than when I first started watching your blog. You must have come into a higher income bracket because it looks much more elegant and pricey! Both are inspiring but we don’t all have the means to decorate so expensively! I do congratulate you on your hard work.

  10. Love your decorations! Where did you get the sweet snow globe ornaments? They are so lovely!
    Thank you and happy holidays!
