Creating Earthy Vignettes for Summer
Changing vignettes from season to season is something I’ve done for many years. Normally I’ll invest in new pillows or knick knacks but this year I’m rebelling against that approach and using things I already have to create earthy vignettes for summer – my favorite season!
Today I’m joining another group of bloggers to share summer mantels or vignettes – or both! Thanks to Krista at The Happy Housie for organizing today’s tour.
Summer is all about being outdoors and while I love the ocean and the beach, I also love our nearby farm fields and prairies. I want to infuse those country vistas inside my home. My inspiration for my earthy summer vignettes is this charming little landscape painting. My brown bottles mimic the color of the plowed fields and my plants represent the trees and woods.
My clever hubby lined a few of the brown bottles on the window ledge because he didn’t know where else to put them (I had left some of them out). I like the way they look here so I left them.
And I’m glad I did because the natural light through the window shows off their details. Although the bottles are glass, they give earthy appeal through their rich color.
Plus I love the glow of the sunlight through the vintage bottles, casting an amber glow wherever the rays of light shine.
The color brown lends itself easily to creating earthy vignettes for summer – as does the color green in the form of houseplants. Here’s my latest green conquest paired with faux lily of the valley.
More plants – because what creates an earthy summer vibe more than plants and flowers?
I love creating earthy vignettes for summer. Start with a bare surface and get creative with things you already have in your home. It’s almost like creating a painting.

Hubby did a GREAT job! What a beautiful window vignette 🙂
I love your collection of beautiful amber bottles. So pretty shining in the window!
Such a gorgeous vignette Jennifer! I pinned it to my summer board 🙂

This is right up my alley! Love the bottles, always loved glass in a window too. Great look.
Pretty artwork and the bottles do look great with the natural light.

I love your pretty bottles placed around your house and in the window they really do shine. I love fields and old barns that is my kind of picture and i love the colors in yours.
I love those amber bottles! What a warm glow they bring to your home. Thanks for sharing on the blog hop Jennifer!
These earthy vignettes are stunning! I agree. LOVE the amber hues with the light reflecting on the brown bottles. Look so pretty. Where is your faux Lily of the Valley from? I carried that in our wedding and love it so much!
I’ll take that bottle with the glass stopper! I have quite a bit of amber glass but have always thought I needed to put it away until fall. Thanks for the inspiration!
