The DIY Mommy ~ Charming Home Tour
Today I’m sharing a Northern neighbor’s charming home tour, which seems apropos since it actually snowed a bit yesterday. Luckily none of the white fluffy stuff stuck to the ground. Hopefully Christina up in Canada isn’t experiencing our temporary plunge in temperature. She blogs at The DIY Mommy and has such a pretty prairie-style home.
I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Christina’s sitting room. I love the soft hues of pink and blue paired with a faux cowhide rug. A modern light fixture overhead adds an eclectic twist.
Christina’s kitchen dining nook shows off gorgeous teal and green drapes. An iron rod is the perfect place for kids to hang their artwork. They must enjoy proudly displaying their creations here, and it’s such a clever way to do it.
Christina installed stunning marble back splash to her kitchen. Note how she incorporated white cabinets on top and black cabinets for the bottom. The two colors make the kitchen truly appealing and unique.
In the living room, Christina made pillows to soften her sofas. A stacked stone fireplace takes center stage.
As you might have guessed from the name of her blog, Christina executes plenty of DIY projects and lucky for her, she has this charming and colorful craft room to inspire her.
This gorgeous reclaimed wood clock is just one of the many DIY projects that Christina shares on her blog.
Another colorful room is Christina’s laundry room. I just love her red washer and dryer! The floral cafe curtain adds an air of cottage charm.
In the master bedroom, Christina pairs gray with a bit of cream to create a soothing, serene space. A basket beneath the side table provides additional storage. I need to remember to do this!
The children’s bathroom has sunny pops of yellow set against gray and light blue.
I hope you enjoyed this tour of Christina’s charming home with its beautiful prairie styling. Be sure to visit Christina at The DIY Mommy for more inspiration that you can try yourself!

I love her animal print rug in the living room. It really pulls the room together.
