Loving the gorgeous rugs and runners throughout this home.
The oriental rugs all through this home stole my heart from the very beginning. They are like art for the floor. I’ve used rugs similar to these over the years as wall hangings (not on the floor with grandchildren and dogs) and always loved the soothing effect and the noise reduction they provide in open concept rooms. I think if I ever do any major redecorating again, affordable versions of this type of rug will be front and center – and on the floor this time.
Thank you for this tour. I am moving into a new home shortly, and will be moving my grandmother’s oriental(1920) and my own. They bring so much life to a home. It’s not often that there are highlighted.

I love this!! Seeing a newly updated beautiful home showcasing classic oriental rugs is so refreshing!!! We have several of them that were handed down to me and I feel like they add so much character and warmth and love to a home – though the trend seems to think they are “dated”! Thank you for showing that they can be used in modern settings too. This home is a dream!!! I’d love to live there 🙂 And I enjoyed seeing the fun little hand towels too 🙂
Wow, maybe it’s not the PC thing to do, but I have to call this one how I see it & offer a different viewpoint. Not for me – never seen so many rugs in one house let alone in one room! LOL Rugs are nice individually just not so many.
I love the bones of this house, the architect did a good job giving it style, but the decor to my eye is a mish mash of styles that don’t work together in harmony that often & especially with colors that do not sit well together in most cases or work well with the very strong color palette of the rugs. The decor on mantels etc seems to lack balance, lots of little bits of decor that don’t gel well together or look too sparce?
I know it’s ‘eclectic’, but even a mix of items if curated well can work together, but the children’s bed coverings. combined with those lamps are an example of when less could be so much more. Primaries & pastels together for many people create a clash of tone that is not especially soothing for a bedroom. Individually the pieces in this home are often quite nice, but they just didn’t work together for me.
Those quilts are very pretty wonder if they are vintage? The towels in the kitchen are adorable and the bath. These are the things I love.
