This dining space has me intrigued with its unique approach to decorating. Some elements, like the hutch with china, are vintage. While the floor, deep orange chairs, and bold wallpaper print are more contemporary in style. And then there’s the rustic brick wall. Who knew these details would make for such a beautiful dining room? The designer is truly creative.

Softer colors keep the room from feeling too over-the-top. Light pink drapes, a pale blue hutch, and creamy pottery provide just the right softness against stronger colors. The eclectic approach to decorating the English cottage dining room is fresh and new. It’s a little millennial and a little grandma chic.

The homeowner’s china pattern was the inspiration for the dining room and the entire home’s makeover. Much to the designer’s delight, that meant fresh colors throughout. And aren’t the pink hobnail glasses adorable?

A round wooden pedestal table takes center stage on the uniquely-patterned floor in this beautiful English cottage dining room where family meals are enjoyed.

The happy vibe of this space is accentuated with large windows that allow natural light to flood the room.

In my humble opinion, the soft blue hutch with colorful dishes is the star of the room. I love the arches of the hutch and notice the teardrop door pulls.

  1. Wow- that’s an interesting combination. For me, it’s a little much. I love the hutch (and its contents), the table and especially those beautiful floors. But the orange chairs and the lamps are not my favorite. It is fun to see what’s out there though! Definitely unexpected and creative!

  2. I liked the cheerful vibes. However, I think that the basic bones, including the hutch, are so wonderful you could make this room far more traditional, and it would look great too.

  3. Really well done. Love the floor and all but the chairs, as I personally dislike orange and yellows..if the chairs were green I would go for the whole thing. Still, excellent design.
