Our House Now a Home: Charming Tour

Welcome to July and another month filled with inspiring, charming home tours! Not long ago I stumbled across Emily’s blog at Our House Now a Home and was impressed with many of her DIY projects. I love to see people infuse their creativity into their interiors and Emily has done a great job at making her house a home … thus the name of her blog!

Coastal Style Living Room

Step inside the front door of Emily’s house and you’re greeted by her coastal style living room with its beautiful stone fireplace! Emily made the artwork above the mantel and shares how she created it on her blog.

Kitchen with Painted Cabinets

Soft color graces the painted cabinets in the kitchen above the subway tile back splash, while a dark wood floor adds a little drama to the space. A patterned rug lends a bit of whimsy.

Farmhouse Table with Industrial Lighting

Emily’s dining room sports a farmhouse table with industrial lighting overhead. Rather than chairs all around, Emily mixed things up by including a simple bench at the table. Beautiful!

Master Bedroom with Vaulted Ceiling

A vaulted ceiling in the soft blue master bedroom lends spacious appeal.  Emily adds contrast by pairing a dark wooden bed with soft, white bedding. A soft rose painting above the headboard creates a touch of femininity.

Updated farmhouse style bathroom

Subway tile found in the kitchen makes its appearance in the updated bathroom as well. The addition of narrow, gray vertical tiles is an unexpected yet welcome surprise.

Girl's Pink Bedroom

Emily adds such a playful element to her kids’ bedrooms. What little girl wouldn’t feel like a princess in this beautifully draped bed?

Bunk Bed in Boys Bedroom

I was so impressed by the built-in bunk beds in the boys’ bedroom. A fun rope ladder leads to the upper bunk and each is personalized with an over-sized initial.

Boys Bedroom

The rest of the boys’ bedroom is packed with everything a pair of young men would enjoy. From the drum set in the corner (Emily’s a brave mom) to the play table in the middle, this room is packed with so many great ideas for a kid’s room!

Front porch seating with painted rockers

Emily has given careful consideration to her outside spaces, too! Be sure to visit Our House Now a Home to see more of Emily’s ingenuity and DIY projects for the home.
