Lakefront Home Makes the Most of Indoor-Outdoor Living

If you want a home that makes the most of indoor-outdoor living, look no further than this stunning lakefront home by Collaborative Interior Design out of North Carolina. For me, outdoor living spaces are just as important as indoor ones, and I don’t think I’ve seen a house that does it better than this dark gray beauty that sports a red Dutch door at the entry.

Although the home’s exterior is dark, the inside is nice and bright with just the right touch of color throughout.

Just beyond the entryway is a unique stairway with a catwalk directly above overlooking the living room with its stone fireplace. Although the room is grand, it’s inviting and comfortable.

Expansive sliding glass doors provide a view of the outside, and just wait until you see the amazing deck with its own unique living spaces.

The family room opens up to the kitchen and dining areas. To the left of the dining space are more sliding glass doors that lead out to the same massive deck.

Everything in this home is beautifully styled. Note how the texture of the blinds is similar to that of the rattan dining chairs. A large glass vase enjoys a fresh bouquet of cut branches adding to the organic vibe of the room.

Step through the glass doors of the dining area out to the deck with an amazing kitchen and dining space of its own. Cook and eat inside or take meal time outdoors. It’s easy to access outdoor living from almost any room of the house.

The lakefront home also enjoys a beautiful home office with dark blue walls and the same bamboo shades seen throughout the house. A contemporary light fixture adds a fresh touch.

The master bedroom features a dark blue accent wall with a wood beam above. Another set of large glass doors leads out to the home’s deck, and what’s beyond is pretty spectacular.

Just outside the master bedroom is an outdoor room with fireplace, television, and wood planked ceiling. Impressive, right? I love the shuttered windows and furniture, too.

Another bedroom has the same ceiling fan as the master and is decorated in creamy white and brown.

An upstairs family room makes a great space for a giant chess game.

Here’s a view of the deck that was added on to the house during its renovation. To the left is the outdoor kitchen and dining room, the center is an open deck, and the right side is that gorgeous living room off the master bedroom.

The center of the deck doesn’t have a roof so you get full views of the trees and natural surroundings.

  1. I’m not usually a fan of dark exteriors especially close to black but this is very nice. Wouldn’t it be nice to sit outside that bedroom all cozy in your pj’s and not be bothered by neighbors? I miss the country life. Looking for that quaint town that gives both privacy and close walks for coffee and eats…if you want to go that is. The light wood exterior accents really make this home pop.Great place.
    Wonderful!
