Stunning Historic Massachusetts Home You’re Sure to Love
Get ready to fall in love with today’s historic Massachusetts home by Henley Design, located in Manchester-by-the-Sea. You’ll be smitten by the mix of old and new in this traditional coastal home located in an idyllic setting.
Step into the pretty entryway with gray-blue paneling and newer botanical prints on the wall above. A simply wooden bench and hearth broom greet you while baskets provide a place for storing shoes.
The first of two dining rooms features black Windsor chairs with a simple wood table. A non-functional fireplace adds architectural detail, along with the built-in cabinets.
Adjacent to the main dining area, a casual, neutral family room sports a comfy sectional and bamboo blinds at the expanse of windows. A pretty landscape print adorns a simple wooden cabinet. The upholstered ottoman performs double-duty as a coffee table.
Across from the sectional, a plush leather chair with a brass reading lamp is the perfect place to cozy up with the latest novel from the best seller list. A bird nest print lends an organic touch.
The living room features wooden, antique pieces of furniture throughout the home. I’m enjoying the trend back to unpainted furniture. Windows are kept simple and unadorned.
A pair of off-white accent chairs create a comfortable conversational area in the space. A sailboat print gives homage to the coastal location.
Note the detail on the door trim next to the vintage dresser. A tall basket filled with cuttings from the garden adds an organic vibe in the historic Massachusetts home.
A second dining room features a different style of Windsor chairs. Windows wrap the room allowing an abundance of natural light into the space. An exposed brick wall lends charm all its own.
Another view of the dining room with an exposed brick wall shows off the built-in book shelves. Window treatments are kept simple – just roller shades to lend privacy when needed.
I love the curved banister in this historic Massachusetts home! It makes me want to add fancy brackets to my banister – and paint it a pretty color. The trio of windows is a nice architectural touch, too, and need no adornment.
The bedrooms are kept simple yet pretty. A classic black iron bed takes center stage with a patterned rug underfoot and ceramic jar lamps for nighttime reading.
A secondary bedroom has a diamond windowpane door leading out to a cozy porch. Sheer linen drapes add softness to the windows.
A modern-style wallpaper hugs the bathroom, proving you can mix contemporary elements with historic ones to create a refreshing and pleasing effect.
Personally, I don’t find anything I don’t like about this historic Massachusetts home by Henley Design. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
