My Secret to Easy Holiday Decorating

One of my goals this Christmas is to follow a stress-free, easy holiday decorating approach! I tend to get overwhelmed with all that has to be done this time of year so I’m simplifying the seasonal decor and taking it one room and one project at a time.

 

As I was preparing to hang Christmas artwork and decorate my mantel, I found a wonderful solution for avoiding nails in the wall and making it much easier to place and re-place pictures. And now I’m sharing this secret to easy holiday decorating with you!

I recently learned about Command® Adjustables™ repositionable 1 lb hooks and Command® Adjustables™ repositionable 1 lb clips. Let me tell you – these hooks and clips are a game changer!

 

I found the Command® Adjustables™ repositionable 1 lb hooks and clips at our local Walmart at the end of the aisle. It may sound a little silly but I feel like I found gold.

 

I hung a holiday “Believe” sign using this new technology from Command® Adjustables™ repositionable 1 lb hooks and it was so easy. I had to move the artwork a couple of times to get the placement right (because that’s always what happens with me) and rather than wind up with three new nail holes, the whole process was damage free with no tools needed!

 

To use either the clips or hooks, you remove the protective paper from the adhesive square and place the sturdy hook onto it. Then peel the hook and adhesive from the paper backing and apply it to the wall. You can reposition the Command® Adjustables™ repositionable 1 lb hooks up to three times in 20 minutes.

 

After seeing how easy it was to hang the “Believe” sign, I had the genius idea to use the Command® Adjustables™ repositionable 1 lb hooks and Command® Adjustables™ repositionable 1 lb clips to decorate my mantel. I found the cutest holiday print paper bags at Walmart and my wheels started spinning.

 

The hooks can be mounted on a variety of surfaces like painted wood, glass, metal, painted walls, and more. The hook is strong enough and deep enough to accommodate the paper bag handles, ribbon, and battery operated lights.

I used a bow and a sprig of holiday greenery to cover the top of the hook. When I saw these adorable paper holiday bags, I thought they’d be great to hang on the mantel in lieu of stockings. I can fill the bags with small, lightweight treats for the kiddos.

 

The ribbon is also from Walmart and I was super excited to find out it’s lightly wired which makes it easier to manipulate for bows and draping. I need to get more of it for other decorations.
