Coffee as Art

I’ve always wanted to make those pretty, creamy swirls on the surface of a piping hot mug of coffee. Have any of you attempted this … or succeeded at it? Here are a few patterns you might want to try.

My personal favorite coffee drink is iced coffee. Especially during the summer. I make coffee the regular way and then turn off the pot and let it cool a little. I fill my cup or glass with coffee ice cubes (just fill your ice cube tray with coffee instead of water) so that the coffee doesn’t get watered down as the ice melts. Add your favorite creamer – mine is Italian Sweet Creme by Coffee-mate – just a dash because it’s pretty sweet.

Coffee Shops

Lucky for hubby and me, we have a new coffee shop in town called The Corner Grind. It’s owned by a wonderful couple that I’ve known for many years. I’m so happy their business is a huge success in our little town. Their coffee is good and their muffins are divine!

  1. A cup of coffee in front of me as I read your blog. I don’t drink a LOT of coffee, but I do enjoy two cups of caffeinated in the morning and one cup of decaffeinated in the afternoon. Mostly black, with a touch of sweet cream and I too like it iced. It’s a treat for me to go to a coffee shop and when I do, I indulge my taste for the decadent brews that I don’t fix at home. I tell myself I deserve it……

  2. I am not a coffee drinker except in the cooler weather and i like decaffeinated with creamer at night. I will have to try a remember to try Italian sweet cream. Thanks Jennifer.
