Coffee as Art
I’ve always wanted to make those pretty, creamy swirls on the surface of a piping hot mug of coffee. Have any of you attempted this … or succeeded at it? Here are a few patterns you might want to try.
A few of my friends have created cozy coffee bars in their home. Let their ideas inspire you to finally create your own! First up is this beauty of a coffee bar with Rae Dunn items from Aratari at Home.
A Blue Nest shares her 5 easy tips for creating a functional and pretty coffee bar.
My Life from Home also shares her tips for creating a cozy coffee station. The mug is adorable and I love the sign … “less is more unless it’s coffee.” So true!
I found a few creative coffee bars at Houzz too. This one is tucked inside a beautiful built-in cabinet.
A chalkboard wall creates space for drawing, with floating shelves to hold mugs and other coffee paraphernalia.
An adorable mini-Smeg refrigerator creates a convenient place for cream and milk.
One of my popular posts talks about how to make cappuccino without a fancy machine.
My friend Shannon at AKA Design shares how to make an iced latte on her blog.
Everything is pumpkin spice this time of year and Kendall Rayburn shows how to make a dreamy Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream Coffee Float. Yum!
And speaking of ice cream, you’ll find a mouth-watering no-churn coffee ice cream recipe at Christina’s Adventures.
My personal favorite coffee drink is iced coffee. Especially during the summer. I make coffee the regular way and then turn off the pot and let it cool a little. I fill my cup or glass with coffee ice cubes (just fill your ice cube tray with coffee instead of water) so that the coffee doesn’t get watered down as the ice melts. Add your favorite creamer – mine is Italian Sweet Creme by Coffee-mate – just a dash because it’s pretty sweet.
Lucky for hubby and me, we have a new coffee shop in town called The Corner Grind. It’s owned by a wonderful couple that I’ve known for many years. I’m so happy their business is a huge success in our little town. Their coffee is good and their muffins are divine!
