See Inside a Wondrous, Light and Airy Scandinavian-Style Cabin
This morning I awoke to a dusting of fluffy snow which immediately made me want to get cozy in a cabin. It’s fortunate that I came across this light and airy Scandinavian-style cabin by Lauren DeBello Interiors. You normally wouldn’t equate “cabin” with “light and airy” but once you take the tour, you’ll see what I mean.

Let’s start in the kitchen that pairs deep green with white and light wood. White marble countertops, glossy subway tile, and gold hardware lends the slightest bit of glam to the space.

Take a step back and you’ll see that the kitchen is rather spacious.

The kitchen leads out to a sunroom/living room in the Scandinavian-style cabin. The glass paned sliding French door can be left open or closed between the two rooms.

This gathering space reveals more of the cabin’s Scandinavian influence with a wood-burning stove, airy curtains, and hanging rattan chairs. The stone wall and large cozy throw draped on the sofa add texture.

A pair of hanging rattan chairs cozy up to a furry white throw rug and texture ottomans. This would make a nice little spot for morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

The dining room in the Scandinavian-style cabin reveals the rough, textured walls you’d expect to see in a cabin space. The stone in the fireplace is the same as that seen in the sunroom/living room.

The powder room is all-white with a light and airy cafe curtain. Like the kitchen, the bathroom features brushed gold hardware that looks elegant against the white backdrop.

A sweet floral wallpaper decorates the laundry room with more of the white-painted rough hewn walls. The knotty wood floors are rich and beautiful.

A bookcase is tucked next to the enclosed stairway leading to the bedrooms. But wait – there’s more!

The bookcase opens to reveal a hidden staircase leading downstairs. Note how the side of the opened bookcase is cleverly wallpapered!

The master bedroom features the same, painted rough hewn walls and ceiling. Warmth is added to the room through the use of earth tone bedding, pillows, and rug. The wood floors also lend a bit of warmth. I think the main reason you see a lot of white in Scandinavian homes is due to the lack of daylight during the winter months.

The master bathroom is cozy and elegant all at once. I love the use of brushed gold against white, and I’m always a sucker for a patterned bathroom floor. I’m still waiting for our bathroom floor to arrive. I went bold with it and hope I won’t regret that decision.

We’ll end today’s tour with the baby’s room, which is so sweet and whimsical. A felt ball mobile hangs above the wooden crib while a comfy chair sits nearby by soothing the baby before bed. A floral patterned area rug in soft colors completes the look.

I love the floral wallpaper and I’m generally not a fan of it. It seems dainty to me therefore I feel it is easy to live with The nursery is adorable, light and airy.
