Simple Christmas Decorating Ideas

Christmas, holiday, home decor December 5, 2014

After all the decorating for Tuesday’s Christmas home tour, I’ve been taking it easy the last couple of days and enjoying all the other Holiday Housewalk tours happening this week. I thought I’d share a few simple Christmas decorating ideas using some of my photos that didn’t make it into my home tour earlier this week.

Farmhouse Kitchen Shelves Decorated for ChristmasIn my farmhouse kitchen I added touches of red and green throughout.

Red pomegranates are an easy way to add Christmas color in your home.

I put a few on the windowsills and piled others in white ironstone bowls.

Christmas Vignette in a Farmhouse KitchenA new Christmas pitcher from Home Goods adds more color on the kitchen counter.

White Ironstone Pitcher paired with Christmas itemsOne of my favorite Christmas decorating ideas is to place ornaments here and there.

They add instant color and look pretty all on their own, or grouped together in a basket or bowl.

Christmas Decorating Ideas - Fill White Ironstone Pitcher with Greens and BerriesI like to stuff greens and berries in my white ironstone pitchers.

A glittery wooden Christmas tree from the flea market adds instant color.

The old milk bottle with red print is another flea market find.

Open Farmhouse Kitchen Shelving Decorated for ChristmasOn the other side of the kitchen, I’ve added more red among my white ironstone collection.

More pomegranates add color in a stack of bowls while red letters spell NOEL.

Wooden letters painted red spell NOEL. One of many simple Christmas decorating ideas. One of my easier Christmas decorating ideas this year was the use of painted letters.

You can find wooden letters at any craft store and paint them the color of your choice.

Farmhouse Family Room at ChristmasIn the family room, holiday pillows add color and pattern to my white sectional.

The red buggy pillow is my favorite. You can order your own Christmas beetle pillow.

Snowy Scene in a Repurposed Cigar BoxOn the bookshelf in the family room is this snowy scene.

I created this Christmas decoration from an old cigar box.

DIY Christmas Decor - create a vignette with vintage aqua bottles, touches of red, and silver glass bead garlandThe last of today’s simple Christmas decorating ideas is this easy vignette.

I grouped a few of my vintage aqua bottles together, added touches of red and a silver bead garland.

Today is the last day to enter my giveaway for a copy of Creatively Christmas!
