The classic Cape Cod architecture holds a host of treasures inside. The living room has an abundance of built-in bookshelves with window seats. An eclectic mix of furniture creates a cozy gathering space.

Now this is a bathroom where you can spend some time! A built-in bookcase provides plenty of reading material. The vintage sink has a unique soap and glass holder nearby, along with pretty candle sconce lights.

The dining area in the kitchen also has built-in shelving. I need something like this just to hold all my cookbooks. Asymmetrical doors hide more shelving under the staircase with its painted stairs. Vintage snowshoes give a nod to Vermont winter fun.

You may have already noticed the gorgeous, golden wide-planked floors in this Vermont home. The collection of yellowware bowls pick up on the golden hue in the kitchen. Note the glass drawer knobs on the beautiful built-in cabinet.

A bank of windows above a salvaged kitchen sink enjoys a view of the backyard, which is just as appealing as the inside of the house.

Puppy waits to come inside through the laundry room where he can get a doggy bath just inside the door. I love how functional rooms like this are updated with today’s conveniences, but still embrace old house charm like the antique drying rack and vintage light fixtures.

The family dog gets to bathe in style with 19th century English transferware tiles.

The main staircase in the Vermont home also has painted steps and enjoys built-in shelving. I like the idea of a window somewhere along the stairway for natural lighting. My own house has a similar window toward the foot of the stairs.

During the home’s renovations, newer features were added like this skylight at the top of the steps.

Time to curl up in this under-the-eaves bedroom with windows that allow the sunrise to greet you each morning. At night, listen to the birds in the trees right outside.

I think this must be the bedroom located at the top of the kitchen stairs due to the painted floor color. The family has to be avid readers with all the books they have displayed throughout the home. Want to see what’s beyond that quirky little door?

It’s a pretty craft room located above the garage. The shelves in the knee walls were added during the renovation but look as though they’ve always been there. The beautiful soapstone sink is a salvaged find.

A salvaged claw foot tub was added to the upstairs bathroom along with a custom shower tucked under the eaves.

Antique delft tiles collected by the homeowner were added to the shower tiling. What a beautiful shower.

Charming home design. Love all the books displayed so that you can actually read them!
The picture in the kitchen is a bit creepy though. 😳
Your neighborhood and home tours are always so interesting and fun. Thanks!
What a great home. Many things I really like…lots of book storage, a pretty kitchen, love the slightly hidden craft room and am very fond of metal roofing. I would love one of those small drying racks for the laundry room. Skylights and window seats are nice. Lots of character here.
This home is so beautiful and comfy. I grew up in a farm house and loved the uniqueness of it and all farm houses. Thanks for sharing this.
Charming home. I would not want to dust those books and as for the ones near the toilet, uh, that’s a no from me!
Lovely home filled with windows or books, my favorite was the kitchen so charming.
I Pinned many of these ideas in this home. I love it! Is it for sale? Lol!
Just lovely!
Oh, Jennifer! This is one of the most charming homes I have ever seen you feature. I love all books everywhere and the nooks and crannies. The woodwork and windows. It’s just beautiful. Lucky homeowners. They must marvel every day at how fortunate they are to live there.
Merry Christmas Jennifer!
It’s a beautiful house. I agree with the other reader that the picture in the kitchen is creepy though!
I wouldn’t want him watching me do the dishes every night.
Did you notice that in the first bathroom, the mirror was made out of a snowshoe?!
Very Vermonty.
Take care.
