Vintage Canadian Cottage in Lake of Bays
Today let’s head just north of Toronto to view a vintage Canadian cottage by Jennifer Worts Design in the Lake of Bays area. The charming house has elements of both cabin and cottage style and is decorated in a warm and welcoming manner that you’re sure to love!

The front porch, above, is bright and airy with white painted floors and cozy rattan furniture that we just talked about yesterday.
The living room, below, has an amazing stone fireplace with built-in cabinets, along with a gorgeous wood ceiling and flooring. The big bay window lets in plenty of light and includes a cozy banquette with lots of comfy pillows. Note the glass-top coffee table with its unique driftwood-looking base.

Rich wood flooring continues into the kitchen which has a white bead board ceiling to keep things light. Wood shelves add warmth and a pair of French doors invite you to the adjacent sun room.

The expansive sun room at the end of the kitchen serves as a casual dining spot for breakfast or family dinners. I can only imagine the beautiful views out the bank of windows.

The dining room enjoys a unique and rustic twig chandelier with a contemporary dining table. The built-in dining cabinet is painted black to give it prominence in the space. Custom railing adorns the staircase to the right. The room looks warm and appealing with its eclectic approach to decor.

A cozy reading nook is found on the other side of the staircase and features a wood ceiling providing a cozy cabin vibe in the vintage Canadian cottage.

A rustic twig headboard creates a focal point in the bead boarded bedroom, proving you can combine ruffles with branches for a unique look.

A vintage chaise lounge graces one side of the bedroom with an assortment of tiny wood and twig chairs used as wall art. Are you noticing the woodsy branch theme throughout the house?

The bathroom enjoys a vintage style sink with a beautiful black cabinet for storing toiletries.

An under-the-eaves bedroom features the same star-type light as the first bedroom. This bed features a more contemporary headboard with pretty floral pillows.

Note the angled door in this upstairs bedroom. I love the mix of wood and painted bead board throughout the home. There are so many personal touches to enjoy – like the chippy gray dresser with the oversized round mirror.

Happy Mother’s Day, Ladies!
What a way to be creative with a staircase! That is such a cool bench seat plus that wood in all the spaces no matter natural or white really makes for a cozy feel. Happy Mother’s Day Jennifer!
