Vintage Oil Paintings for Your Home: Market Monday
Vintage oil paintings are making a big comeback in home décor. If you can’t afford original artwork, which can get pretty pricey, there are plenty of resources for canvas prints that look close to the real thing. (This post contains affiliate links – see my privacy policy.)
Art is such a personal thing and this is one of those instances where I see beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some people like landscapes or still life paintings, while others enjoy portraits.
Some of us prefer paintings of animals, like this cow print in my sitting room.
On the other side of my sitting room is a reproduction landscape scene with cows.
My daughter found this vintage oil painting of sheep in an antique store for just $35. She got lucky – and then I got lucky when she gave it to me.
Here’s a collection of pretty vintage oil paintings I found that you might enjoy, complete with resources on where to buy. Click the photo to learn more:

Thank you, I have a couple I have found and am still looking. I love my barns and cow paintings, some are big and some are small.
Try the thrift store! Amateur artists do lots of work like this. Just keep looking.
We were given a painting that cost our friend $3… it’s an oil painting by a local artist, of our town sawmill. It turned out to be worth about $600. You never know!
Here in NC thrift stores are everywhere and I’ve collected quite a few such treasures as these. However, I LOVE the white cow painting in your sitting room and am wondering where you got it?
Thanks and keep up the excellent and interesting articles.
