DIY Wall Art: How to Make Your Own

Lately I’ve been turning a critical eye to the walls in my home. I’m making some changes, but decorative changes can be expensive. If you’re also challenged by the high cost of artwork, you’ll enjoy this post that shares a collection of economical DIY wall art. Some are my own creations, and some are the work of fellow bloggers. Click on the links below to be taken to the tutorials.

One of my favorite projects was creating DIY wall art using decorative paper bags from World Market. This is so easy to do!

Making a color-washed book page wreath was another enjoyable project. You can make your wreath any color to suit the season at hand.

A super easy and budget-friendly way to create DIY wall art in your home is to make vintage style hanging posters. The posters themselves can be found for just a few dollars and the supplies are just as cheap! I’ve made several of these.

I hope you found some DIY wall art projects to inspire you. I’m currently hanging two new pieces of canvas artwork in my family room. I don’t know if I’ll reveal them soon or wait until my fall home tour in September. I’d kind of like to wait, but we’ll see.

  1. I love the idea of original artwork. You show how it doesn’t need to be expensive.

Some really cute ideas. In particular, I liked the hoops with fabric. At first I thought they were vintage plates! I have a huge hoop that I was suppose to use for quilting but never did. I can picture sewing together some fabric scraps and making a patchwork quilt motif and placing it in the hoop. Then my other favorite is the botanical print on the old book pages. That looks like a fun one, too. Thanks for sharing.
