Affordable Riverfront Homes at Heritage Harbor
Not too far from where I live is a community of small, newer homes that enjoy waterfront living. I previously shared a tour of adorable cottages at Heritage Harbor, and today there’s more to enjoy. I love this new community in Ottawa, Illinois where you can find unique and affordable riverfront homes. There are also several rental units for vacationing.
Each home has some type of unique detailing, like the cute shutter treatment on this gray waterfront home.
A deep front porch graces the exterior of this charming yellow bungalow. A perfect place to watch the boats in the marina at Heritage Harbor.
This community was created as a destination location along the Illinois River and located near Starved Rock State Park. Several rental homes are available.
You can dock your own boat or rent one at the marina. People enjoy kayaking, water skiing, and more.
Heritage Harbor is divided into a few quaint neighborhoods so you have a choice of a single family home, condo, duplex, and more.
I truly love the variety of architecture found in these riverfront homes. From modern to traditional, it creates a unique community.
Can you imagine the waterfront views from the little tower on this home with its beautiful two-story porch?
One home is just as charming as the next. The historic downtown area of Ottawa is just down the road where you’ll find a variety of shops and restaurants.
Heritage Harbor has its own restaurant if you want to walk to dinner. There’s also a dog park for your furry friends.
You can see last week’s tour of riverfront homes here.

Just adorable. I pinned nearly all of them. Thank you.
They remind me of San Francisco, except more ornate and stylish .
Love the red tin roof home! I agree with the comment from “M” – reminds me of the painted ladies in San Francisco!
These are so cute! I think a lot must have happened in Ottawa since I camped at Starved Rock State Park in the late summer of 1992 right before moving to Phoenix! I backtracked to see the Ottawa homes you featured in an earlier post and they are beautiful.
Love them. I would live there if it was in my state.
Love all of them as well as all the homes you featured in the walking tour.
