Mid-July is upon us and I have to say this summer has hardly felt like summer here in the Chicago area. Rain and cooler temps have worked wonders with my veggie garden, but I’m craving warmer, sunny days. There’s nothing like a beautiful home tour to break a melancholy mood so today we’re touring Doreen’s charming home at Hymns and Verses!
Doreen has styled her living room for the summer season, keeping it light and clutter-free. She artfully mixes pillow patterns on her pretty white couch. Plants add a natural touch to the room.
I love so much of Doreen’s beautiful dining room! From the corner cabinet to the little dresser … and then there’s the unique light fixture over her beautiful table and chairs! A decorative chalkboard echos the white and black buffalo check curtains hanging at the dining room windows.
Doreen and her hubby recently gave their kitchen a makeover. I love that the upper and lower cabinets are 2 different colors. It makes the room richer and more interesting.
How adorable is Doreen’s screened porch with its vintage furniture? Pretty darn adorable, right? I think I would spend every summer day out here drinking lemonade and reading a book. The lighting fixture is a nice touch, too!
Another pretty light fixture makes an appearance in Doreen’s master bedroom. Did you notice the checkerboard pattern on the floor? Soft hues create a restful space for sweet dreaming.
Be sure to visit Doreen at Hymns and Verses where you’ll find DIY projects too … like this bread board that Doreen made. I can’t wait to make one of my own!
