Charming Home Tour ~ The Wood Grain Cottage

Remember that song “Wide Open Spaces” by Dixie Chicks? I love that song and I love big spaces away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and people. I’m an introvert at heart and need room to spread out and breathe a little fresh air. When I saw Shayna’s home at The Wood Grain Cottage and all the space she enjoys on her farm, I fell a little bit in love!

Shayna’s home has an open floor concept, so when you’re in her living room, you can also see into the kitchen and dining spaces. He beautiful style flows from one room to the next!

 

In the entryway, Shayna made an impact with horizontal stripes.

Her home is filled with calming neutrals.

 

I love Shayna’s kitchen! The dark cabinets are rich without being heavy.

Her kitchen island is just the right size and I love that it’s painted a light color.

 

The breakfast nook pairs a dinette set with built-in banquette seating.

Black accents add a touch of class while grounding the neutral color scheme.

 

In the dining room, Shayna installed the gorgeous rustic shelving on the wall.

I love the look and how she arranged some of her favorite collectibles.

 

Shayna has one of the prettier laundry rooms I’ve seen, and I just adore that chicken wire pendant light! The planked wall adds a farmhouse feel to the space.

 

Shayna has plenty of inspirational DIY decorating projects on her blog, like this gorgeous vanity in the powder room. And did you notice more chicken wire in the form of a basket under the sink? So clever!

 

The master bedroom is calming with its soft neutrals.

Plenty of windows let in natural light and provide great views of the wide outdoors.

Gorgeous mountains stretched beyond the farm fields. So beautiful!

 

Here’s Shayna’s house, next to the cornfield. I love the smell of fresh growing corn and am a little envious she gets to throw open the windows and breathe in the fresh farm air!
