Chic City Loft with a Bohemian Industrial Style
Are you ready for something a little different? Today we’re touring a chic city loft by RL Concetti in the heart of Detroit that beautifully blends two unexpected styles – bohemian and industrial. You’ll find a slightly edgy vibe paired with softer femininity.
Exposed ductwork in the living room runs along the painted, open ceiling. White-washed brick walls enhance the texture of the space while industrial style windows painted blue provide expansive views of city streets below. A large leather sectional and flowing drapes add softness and cozy comfort.
A rustic chandelier of wood and Edison lights is suspended between the ductwork and kitchen island. Black kitchen cabinets keep the city vibe going.
Metal posts and plumbing are laid bare to enhance the industrial vibe of the chic city loft. The lights of the town must sparkle through the large kitchen windows creating a special ambiance at night.
I love the rattan bar stools and tried to find out where they came from. They add much-needed texture in the cool loft kitchen.
You can see the bedroom from the kitchen island. A custom sliding door can be pulled shut for privacy. The door is an industrial style work of art.
The same blue paint frames the expansive views of Detroit from the bedroom. I believe the floors are polished cement. Wallpaper on the far wall keeps the loft from looking too much like a warehouse.
A bohemian style headboard and hanging pendant lights add style and texture. Boho chic pillows adorn the bed.
A half wall separates the bedroom from the master bathroom, allowing for natural light to filter in while bathing or showering. Plants add an element of nature.
Copper plumbing is exposed along with ductwork in the master bathroom. The toilet is tucked behind a frosted door for privacy.
A gorgeous wood vanity pairs with blue and white patterned tile while modern bathroom fixtures protrude from the wall. This loft apartment is anything but ordinary and makes a great home for a young family.
A second bathroom has a walk-in shower with more blue and white tile. A rustic vanity immediately catches your attention when walking into the room.
If I lived in a big city, I’d probably want a stylish loft like this one.

Wasn’t prepared to like this space as much as I do. Those rattan stools, the headboard, the master suite are the bomb. I agree with you. If I had to live in a city studio apartment, this would be it.
Would love to call this my pad. Having this small place would actually relieve all the stress of having to much to decorate or tidy up daily as it is just so perfectly quaint on it’s own.
The ceiling work gives an idea of what can be done also in basements that have too low of a ceiling height to do dry wall.
The faucet in the bathroom just jutting from the tile! That leaves that sink space open real estate for men’s shavers or a girls lotions and potions! How cool is that!?
I’m in my late, late 80’s and I love it.
I’ve always loved these kind of apartments. I have seen them on different shows and thought how much fun it would be.
I daydream about living alone in a loft apartmwnt sometimes. After I clan up after my husband for the zillionth time. 🤨 I would need one larger though with a big storage unit or garage would be perfect. This one is very nice.
Really, really nice. Or, as we say in Rhode Island, “Wicked Cool”!
