Flat – an apartment or suite of rooms on one level. Today I’m happy to show you this darling little flat across the seas, residing in Russia. The designer is Tatiana Ivanova who was a chemist until the right side of her brain took over. Good thing she changed careers because today’s home tour is truly charming.
One thing you’ll notice while touring this apartment – colors and tones remain consistent from room to room. Maintaining a similar color scheme throughout creates the illusion of larger rooms. Your eye flows from room to room without any jarring change of color or intensity of hue. The charming breakfast nook sets the tone for a soft palette.
Would you mind a small kitchen if it looked as cute as this one? Small details like the design of the cabinets, the softly patterned Roman shade, the tile back splash – all give this space a truly custom look.
A vintage wall clock lends character on the wall by the breakfast table.
A built-in hallway cabinet provides oodles of storage – a treasured commodity in a darling little flat.
Soft colors continue on into the living room with a pretty striped wing chair.
Small-scale furniture helps free up floor space. Traffic patterns become more important in smaller homes.
A nightstand with drawers and oval stacking boxes create additional storage for a pretty bedroom in neutral tones.
A second bedroom wears the same soft tones. Pretty wallpaper lends individuality.
An elegant French chair cozies up in a corner to create a bedroom reading nook.
Even the bathroom is filled with character and charm!
