Step through the double doors into the light and airy entryway. Note how the panes of the light fixture mimic the panes of the transom window.

The dream cottage has a pretty, beach style living room with something I love. Plants!ย

The kitchen is pretty amazing. Rich wood floors, coffered ceiling, stone backsplash, and custom cabinets.

And if you like a little color in your kitchen, you’ve got a beautiful blue island right in the center.

In addition to seating at the kitchen island, our dream cottage has eat-in dining with a round table large enough to seat six.

The dining room offers additional space for gathering and eating – with a continuation of the coffered ceiling. A wall of windows lets in plenty of light while an upholstered banquette adds softness to the room.

The hallway exhibits a lot of the architectural details seen through this dream cottage. Crown molding, board and batten trim, and custom storage spaces.

An upstairs bedroom reveals more architectural detail in the form of a custom wall. Soft colors create a dreamy space.

  1. Is no one else bothered by the obvious asymmetry of the front doors, windows above, and the portico? I would never buy this house, even before walking in to it. The architect failed the exterior.

  2. Most of your posts lately show houses or “cottages” that look way too new and slick. They look like model homes for a new development. Definitely not personal, homey or lived in. I used to love your site.
