Experience Simple Charm and Modern Comforts in a Nashville Country Home

Today’s Nashville country home by Whitley & Co. shows how to pair simple charm with modern comforts. You’ll find a bit of rustic appeal along with a touch of elegant design, which results in modern country styling.

Warm wood floors greet you in the entryway above and set the stage for the rest of the home. An elegant chandelier presides over more rustic furnishings.

Looking through the front doors, you’re immediately impressed with the spaciousness of the interiors. A clear sight line lets you gaze past the living room to the windows that open to the backyard. The flow of natural light is refreshing.

Stone blocks frame the fireplace with a simple wood mantel. Blue and white buffalo checks on a side chair add classic country appeal, along with the blue wing chair directly across from it. A large wooden coffee table creates space for family games.

A patterned floor livens up the pretty powder room with a porthole style mirror and a vanity with louvered doors. I’m noticing a trend of patterned flooring in bathrooms lately. I still have yet to choose the floor for my downstairs bathroom. I just ordered the new fixture for the claw foot tub, which is going to be a game changer. I might be ready to reveal it by end of summer. LOL.

The kitchen in today’s Nashville country home is pretty spectacular. I love the blue subway tile against the white cabinets. I’m still a fan of white kitchens even though they’re losing popularity. And I just painted my own cabinets Dutch Tile Blue by Sherwin Williams, eliminating most of the white in there.

Metal farmhouse chairs cozy up to the large dining table which has a cozy sitting area off to the side. You can just see the back of the blue wing chair in the living room, which helps to visualize the layout of the home. You can also see a glimpse of the master bedroom from this view.

Note how the curtains are hung higher than the top of the windows. This is an often-used trick to give the impression of larger windows.

A gorgeous freestanding bathtub takes residence under a large window in the master bathroom. Thanks to the spacious property, there’s no fear of neighbors seeing you bathe.

  1. This is a really lovely home. Can you imagine how relaxing taking a nice soak in that tub would be?!

  2. What a beautiful home but I am distracted by the wrought iron front door. It is way too traditional for the rest of the house and I think takes away front it. I couldnt help but think how much nicer one with straighter lines and less detail would have looked.
