Georgian Style: Charming Home Tour

Georgian style homes are noted for their classic symmetry and today we’re taking a tour of this beauty located in the canyon. Georgian style was very prevalent in the U.S. from the 1700s through the Revolutionary War. Gleaming wood floors and a beautiful staircase greet you in the entryway. An arched hallway adds visual interest. Even the door at the end of the hall is arched.

 

Inside, a cozy library provides plenty of reading material, or play chess with a hand-carved set awaiting on the coffee table.

 

A circular game table is tucked in a corner of the family room. A drum pendant light adds classic style while mid-century modern chairs create an eclectic vibe.

A handy butler’s pantry leads to the dining room. Plenty of storage and a built-in wine rack keep the kitchen neat and tidy. I’ve been re-organizing my kitchen lately because it’s driving me crazy. I took a couple sets of dishes to our local re-sale shop that raises money for unwed, teenage mothers.

 

A lively paper covers the walls in the dining room. The circular chandelier echoes the circle cut-out in the swinging door.

 

In one of the bedrooms, a soft wallpaper creates a peaceful retreat. Matching chairs in blue and white ticking cozy up to the fireplace beside the bed. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a roaring fire in the bedroom on a frosty winter’s night?

 

The bathroom is adorned with classic white subway tile. A little alcove creates a cozy nook for soap.
