Home Exterior Colors: Neutral and White
Welcome to round two of home exterior colors in Naperville, Illinois. Last week I featured a collection of blue and gray houses in the snow. Today we’re looking at beautiful houses in white and neutral tones.
Most of the houses on today’s tour are new, but a few are old. All of them have amazing details like this Victorian style home with brick and cedar siding.
Here’s a classical Colonial with tan siding and a copper roof over the front door.
How about a two-story porch? I want whatever bedroom that enjoys the double doors on the upper porch.
This Victorian beauty is one of my favorites. Note the detailed trim in the windows and the large turret on the back of the house.
As you can see, many of the houses still have their Christmas decorations up. I took these photos the week after the holiday.
The stone work on this house is so pretty, and arched front window is a gorgeous touch.
Here’s another large arched window. I love how the houses in this Naperville neighborhood all look different.
Note the detailed trim on each of the peaks of this custom home. This is something that could be easily added to create more curb appeal.
You’ll find a few these white modern farmhouses in the area. It’s a popular style in the Chicago suburbs these days.
A pretty Dutch Colonial has a nice full porch with a brick foundation. It looks pretty in the snow.
Here’s another modern farmhouse dressed in white. One advantage of taking home exterior photos in the snow is that there aren’t any leaves on the trees to block the view.
My favorite house on today’s tour is the fifth one shown – the large Victorian with a turret in back. Do you have a favorite?

Jennifer, these houses are gorgeous. I agree with you. I believe the Victorian is my favorite too. Thank you, and have a great and safe week.
I loved each and every one but I really liked #2. They all had different architectural designs on them, that made them different and lovely like old houses.
I love all the natural textures like stone, brick, and wood all mixed together. These are beautiful homes. I’m still a fan of white brick but the new constructed white homes that are a spin off the farmhouse style are too contemporary for my taste. I wonder what will happen in the future with the black trimmed window panes? I’m not a fan personally, no offense:0). Love white in brick for the texture and how everything pops when it’s the background…especially my hydrangeas! Of course I’d be happy to call any of these home.
Such a delight to see the houses. Great fun.

It’s hard to have a favorite when these are all so beautiful and have such character. However, I think I tend to favor those that have brick or stone on the exterior. Very warm looking. Thanks for showing us all these great houses.
