Housepitality Designs ~ Charming Home Tour
Today’s charming home tour is exciting to me because she’s one of the first blogs I remember finding … Housepitality Designs. Shirley has an elegant home that is both stunning and comfortable. I love her color choices and the light and airy look she’s infused through most of her home. Are you ready to take a look around?
Shirley’s traditional front porch is welcoming and gorgeous! I’m a huge fan of a double front door, and her wood door with arched transom doesn’t disappoint. A pair of matching windows echo the arched transom.
I’m totally smitten with Shirley’s great room. The large French doors leading outside, flanked by mullioned windows … sigh. What’s not to love? You can see the ceiling is vaulted and the soft colors in this space make the room so beautiful.
Shirley’s French Country style kitchen has rich cabinetry and a beautiful island. Lighter floors and white trim keep the room fresh and appealing. The gorgeous counter tops finish off the room with great style.
Are you noticing all the lovely windows throughout Shirley’s home? Her home is filled with natural light, including the dining room. I love the chandelier with its glass pineapple fixture. Did you know the pineapple is the sign of hospitality?
Another light-filled space is Shirley’s sunroom. I think I would spend a good chunk of my time in this room with its classic wicker furniture and café curtains. Such a happy space, don’t you think?
While the sunroom is light and feminine, the man cave is more masculine and sports the coveted pool table!
Who wants to spend the night in Shirley’s guest bedroom? I do! I do!! I love classic blue and white and the color combo is always so serene in a bedroom. I’m also a huge fan of the toile bedding. A gorgeous chandelier tops everything off!
A pair of oval mirrors grace the vanity in the guest bathroom. I like this look as opposed to one long mirror. It makes the space feel cozy and welcoming.
Shirley’s master bedroom is perfection, from the ceiling to the chandie to the elegant 4-poster bed.
At the end of the day, a claw foot tub awaits Shirley in her master bathroom. I’ve always loved big tubs under a window.
Outside on Shirley’s back porch is plenty of seating to enjoy a warm summer’s day. Pretty flowers add pops of color.
And finally, Shirley’s amazing back porch!!! This is my favorite back porch ever. In the summer months, I think I would pretty much live out here. I love the combination of brick, siding, white pillars, and mullioned windows. All of it is just perfect!
