Modern Farmhouse Kitchen: Light and Breezy
It’s time for another modern farmhouse kitchen tour. This one is light, bright, and roomy enough for more than one cook at a time.
Black counter tops add a bit of drama to the light wood kitchen cabinets, while farmhouse pendant lighting illuminates cooking spaces.
True to its style, a deep farmhouse sink takes center stage under the window. A throw rug adds texture and warmth underfoot.
Here’s a close-up of the pretty tile backsplash in a geometric pattern.
Elements like the wood bowls above and the dried ornamental grass centerpiece below add earthy appeal to the modern farmhouse kitchen.
I love the mix of modern appeal with farmhouse style in this space.
Even the Windsor chairs at the kitchen island have a modern vibe.
I hope you enjoyed today’s kitchen tour by Jula Cole Design. I find it refreshingly light and breezy!

Good Morning Everyone!
This kitchen is totally not my décor style, yet I love everything about it! Especially the backsplash! Thank you for always sharing different styles and new twist to old ones! It keeps me thinking and encourages me to step out of my decorating box!
Hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying their start to Spring!
I really like the mix of wood and white! This is a very pretty kitchen – but with an unfortunately poor layout with the cooktop in the island – which is difficult to vent well – meaning the pendants will need frequent cleaning:)
Beautiful, light and breezy AND refreshing! I am excited to see the cabinets painted white to break up the space instead of open shelving in this kitchen. Loving the contrast and interest of the countertops too, well done!
BTW, I believe the cook top in the island would have a “down draft” that should take care of the venting. 🙂
Take Care!
I have no personal experience, but people I know in the kitchen design field say downdraft is just OK as to venting and not the preference with gas as it can pull on the flame. I do not say this to knock the kitchen – it is lovely, but I was surprised to see a gas range in an island in a new kitchen since everyone I know in the kitchen design world tries to avoid this.
Love this kitchen! I would never have thought to put one together like this but it’s beautiful! The backsplash ties the cabinets and counter together beautifully!!
Thank you for your inspiring posts!
Love the island pendants! Can you please tell me who is the manufacturer?
Beautiful! What wood are your cabinets and what is the wood stain or finish? Thank you!
