New Year, New White Sectional

family room, farmhouse style, furniture January 1, 2015

Happy New Year!! Hopefully you didn’t party too much last night.

During my 2014 Christmas home tour I shared my new white sectional, but I didn’t share much of the background story with you. For months I had been thinking about getting a new sectional. When it comes to furniture, I’m always shy to pull the trigger. I don’t know why. It’s just the way I’m wired. But when Kris at Junk Chic Cottage emailed me and asked if I wanted to buy her beautiful white sectional, I didn’t want to miss the opportunity!

White Sectional in Farmhouse Family RoomI’ve always admired Kris’ sectional and she posted it for sale on her blog.

When it comes to furniture, I sort of need it to fall in my lap.

Otherwise I get cold feet and stick with what I’ve got.

Farmhouse Style Family RoomI asked Kris to send me the dimensions, thinking it probably wouldn’t fit in my family room.

But the size was just perfect and I couldn’t pass up something that fell into my lap.

Farmhouse Family Room decorated for ChristmasHere’s what my family room looked like last year about this time.

The love seat and chairs just didn’t provide enough seating.

Farmhouse Family Room with White FurnitureKris’ sectional better suits our needs and I told her YES!

So we arranged a time to pick the furniture up at her house.

Jennifer Zuri of Town and Country Living and Kris Vavra of Junk Chic CottageKris lives about an hour away and I was excited to finally meet her! She gave me a full tour of her beautiful home, which I’ve featured in my Charming Home Series. You wouldn’t think it’s possible, but her home looks even prettier in person than it does in photos.

White Sectional in Farmhouse Family RoomI hope Kris doesn’t miss her old sectional, because I’m sure enjoying it.

I need to get a few more pillows for it.

The coffee table is my childhood toy chest built by my dad. I painted it white.

Fern Plant with Vintage BottlesMy little fern plant sits on the coffee table with vintage bottles.

Crusty Vintage Bottle from the DumpWhen it comes to bottles, the crustier the better.

I found this one in an unused farmer’s field.

Vintage Books and BottlesAlso on the chest is a collection of vintage books and more old bottles.

Vintage BottlesI don’t know what it is about old bottles that tug on my heart strings.

The same with old books. There’s just something about them.

White Sectional Sofa in Farmhouse Family RoomI love my new white sectional and am so happy Kris reached out to me!

Wishing all of you a Happy New Year!!

I love the old bottles, too. I wonder if there’s a book about why we love what we love. Best wishes in the new year.

Oh my goodness….it looks absolutely perfect in your home, Jennifer! I LOVE it! I keep throwing the idea around of having a sectional in my living room, but the space is small, so I don’t know if it would take up too much room. But I sure adore it in your home! It must have been so much fun meeting Kim and seeing her home. Great way to start out the new year, girlie!

I think the sectional is one of the best furniture inventions. Yours is so pretty and perfect for your farmhouse, and I know how much you’ll enjoy it.
