The Best Charming Dark Green Cottage Nestled In Sherwood Forest

Did you know that Sherwood Forest still exists? You might not see Robin Hood in this private community, but you’ll find a charming mix of riverside retreats. Today we’re taking a look at a newer and super cute dark green cottage found in this peaceful community. The vacation home belongs to the architect and designer who created it – Sarah Hayes.

This retreat has great curb appeal with its ample porch and pitched roof. The exterior siding is painted Benjamin Moore’s Essex Green with white on the windows and the x-detailed porch railing. The golf cart enhances the vacation vibe of the home.

Every vacation retreat needs to have a porch and this dark green cottage doesn’t disappoint. A trio of white Adirondack chairs softened with red pillows creates the perfect place for relaxing on a warm summer day. A pair of ceiling fans lend a cooling touch when needed.

Step into the living room to find a gorgeous stone fireplace and plenty of windows to let in natural light. The furnishings are traditional in style in blue and off white tones to create a coastal ambiance.

The living room is open to the kitchen and dining space. It makes for a great space to entertain or have the entire family together. It’s a common layout seen in houses being constructed today.

Remember the x-detailed railing on the porch? Here it is again at the end of the kitchen island. It’s small details like this that tie a home together, inside and out.

Even the staircase features a bit of the x-detailed railing seen on the exterior of today’s dark green cottage.
