The Ultimate English Cottage Kitchen: Classic Charm and Timeless Design
Enjoy touring this beautifully renovated English cottage kitchen by Copper Sky Design + Remodel! The design masterfully marries British style with thoughtful, modern functionality. You can tell every detail has been curated to evoke warmth, comfort, and character — creating a space that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
One of the most striking features is the red oak island, designed to look like a freestanding antique furniture piece. Its rich grain, warm tones, and turned legs provide a beautiful focal point. In fact, it’s the first thing I noticed about this kitchen. Topped with a dark stone countertop, the island balances rustic charm with durability and function.

The star of the kitchen is its custom cabinetry, painted in a soft sage green that immediately sets a serene and welcoming tone. This color choice draws from traditional English interiors while feeling perfectly at home in a modern setting. Green tones beautifully enhance neutral color palettes, adding a natural, calming touch that evokes the serenity of the outdoors.

The cabinetry extends to the ceiling, offering generous storage while visually elevating the room’s proportions. Brass hardware adds a subtle gleam and a touch of sophistication to the cabinetry, further enhancing the vintage aesthetic.

Off to the side, an inviting breakfast nook provides a cozy place to enjoy a quiet morning or a casual family meal. Woven café-style chairs and a tulip-style table showcase European influences. In the background, a mudroom is tucked into an alcove that leads outdoors.
I like that a darker off-white paint color was used for the trim around windows and doorways as opposed to using the green. I think it gives the space a lighter look. It also proves you don’t have to match your cabinet color with trim color to create a cohesive space.

Natural light streams through classic multi-pane windows, illuminating every corner of the room. The open cabinets, backed by warm wood wood, allows for both function and display, perfect for showcasing cookware, collected pottery, or everyday essentials. This not only enhances visual interest but brings a personal touch that makes the kitchen feel distinctly lived in. Think of ways to personalize your own kitchen. You might be surprised what you come up with!

More wood accents carry through in thoughtful ways throughout the English cottage kitchen. These warm, tactile elements tie the room together and offer a beautiful counterpoint to the sleek countertops and brass hardware. Not to mention, the wood tones also pick up on the warm brown color in the amazing terracotta tile floor.

This amazing kitchen renovation exemplifies how a well-executed makeover can blend the comfort of old-world charm with the efficiency and beauty of modern living. It’s more than just a cooking space; it’s an attractive and soulful heart of the home, where timeless style and everyday life intersect seamlessly. Couldn’t you see yourself enjoying Sunday brunch in this cozy corner with windows all around?

I hope you enjoyed today’s English cottage kitchen by Copper Sky Design + Remodel. I think it’s pretty spectacular!

This kitchen has amazing features in and of themselves. However, put together I’m just not diggin’ it. I think it is the different terra cotta colors used together in the floor, which doesn’t make sense to me because I normally LOVE terra cotta floors. My mind reads the colors together as a bit “off.” But I’m sure that’s just me. That color green is gorgeous- soothing and calming. So, yep, must be the floor that’s distracting to me.
I agree with Deb G. on those floors! Otherwise, completely lovely kitchen.
LOL! Maybe a different color cabinet would help. They do kind of remind me of the faux brick floor from the 70s. Everything seems to come back in fashion at some point, doesn’t it?
Hi Deb! I can see how the floor might not appeal to people. I would never think to choose it myself. A patterned floor in the same or similar green shade as the cabinets with white would be pretty – and a safer option which is what I typically go for. LOL.
Lovely!
Can you suggest where I might locate a similar chair to the kitchen collection? –the bentwood type w/rattan on the back & black seats? TIA
Hi Sandi! You can find them at Shades of Light. They’re sold in pairs: https://rstyle.me/+hxixkswy8fRZ0b8mx-Mg6A

I have admired the tile kitchin flooring shown. Although beautiful, tile can be hard on feet and legs. It you were to drop something it might well break. I don’t understand why a flooring company company can’t make a reasonable vinyl, interlocking version.
Hi Barbara! I agree with you about the practicality of a tile floor in a kitchen. I have Mexican tiles in my own kitchen and yes – every time a plate or glass is dropped it breaks. It’s frustrating, but it’s the flooring that was in the house when we bought it.
Love this. That long, narrow island seems so practical compared to many and the custom cabinetry is over the top! What a luxury to be able to design your own cabinetry.
Hi Teddee! That island is the first thing that caught my eye and then of course I immediately noticed the cabinetry. Beautiful kitchen.
