Black Kitchen with Equestrian Touch

kitchen ideas December 14, 2018

Would you ever paint your kitchen cabinets black? Today we’re touring a beautiful black kitchen with equestrian touches.

Black kitchen cabinets give the room a rich traditional look. Framed horse prints hang from the papered walls.

A large hutch in the kitchen provides a bar area. Lights illuminate the bar area and you’ll notice another framed equestrian print. Wood floors and plaid upholstered chairs create a rich, warm look.

I never thought about having a black kitchen but I like the look of this one. The diamond leaded glass cabinet fronts are pretty and I like the molding on the solid door cabinets.

The refrigerator is concealed by cabinet doors on the left. The cupboard on the right provides ample space for spices and other pantry items.

This beautiful black kitchen is filled with wonderful details like a copper bar sink. I love all the horse prints, too. It makes you feel like you’re in a classic estate in the English countryside.

Do you think you could live with a black kitchen?

I’m thinking that kitchen is both large enough and bright enough, to keep it from being too dark. It’s a beautiful kitchen, but no, not for me. When I read the header, I immediately thought of that woman from Dixon who stole millions from the city to fund her horse ranch.

Black is a very tricky color option, one which too many tend to just plop in a black fridge and/or stove and call it…..done. The styling pictured shows the sophistication of black with the warming tones of brown and burnished metals, as with the earthy colors in the wall paper. Yes, I could live with this.

I love the look of this kitchen….but unless you clean every day it would be impossible to keep up these cabinets… they would require a lot more work than I want to do….

I do love the look and ambiance of the black cabinets, but I would consider them only if I had someone else to do the cleaning after every use. I painted a vanity in my master bathroom black and it is a pain – showing every piece of lint, powder, human hair, dog hair, tissue dust, etc. When it’s clean, I love it, but in the kitchen it would be even worse, I’m afraid. Cookie baking must be an absolute disaster with black cabinets…. 🙂

I love the black kitchen. I would never have considered that. I am surprised that the dishwasher was not covered with a matching wood front.

Even the wallpaper was pretty. I’d love to try a black kitchen but we don’t get enough light. It’s stunning though.
