Traditional Style at Its Best in California Home

home tour November 22, 2020

Today’s home tour infuses a little bit of southern living with traditional style to create a truly beautiful home with timeless appeal. From the front porch to the back patio and everything in between, there’s so much to enjoy!

An elegant staircase greets you inside the front door. I’ve always been a fan of stairs with a landing – especially when there’s a set of windows involved.

An elegant arch leads into the traditional style pale blue living room with a cozy fireplace and matching sofas that create a comfortable conversation area.

Floor to ceiling windows wrap around the gray and blue dining room. Geometric patterned curtains lend a touch of softness.

Someone had the genius idea to place the home office at one end of the sun room. Natural light and views of outdoor spaces make working so much more enjoyable.

A comfy loveseat provides a pretty spot for reading or enjoying a cup of tea (I’ve been watching Call the Midwife and they’re always offering visitors a cup of tea). I love the trim color in the sun room and am a wee bit envious of the linen shades.

The traditional style kitchen is large and open without feeling cold or institutional. Warm wood floors and a sizeable table make the space feel homey and inviting.

A girls bedroom gets a rosy shade of pink on the ceiling and a pretty patterned wallpaper.

A fun planet mobile hangs from the drum light in the boys bedroom.

One of the bathrooms enjoys painted bead board and a beautiful porthole window. The ceiling light adds just a touch of glam.

You’ll find plenty of gathering spots outdoors, like this al fresco dining spot next to the pool and pool house.

And an oversized suspended porch swing is the perfect place for an afternoon nap in the breeze.

This house has so much character! The little trimmed ceilings in the kids rooms where you don’t really ever see that but it really finishes out the room. That kitchen! Be still my heart! That porch! I was hoping for a swing, handmade and as full as a twin mattress but our porch just isn’t the perfect fit for one…but one can dream and get inspired still. You find the prettiest homes Jennifer. I so enjoy.

I don’t know how you pick these but, you are very good. I love the stairway , the arched door leading into the living room and that round window in the bathroom. I use to dream about having one, in one of the house i lived in as a child had one and i loved it, i don’t even know why, lol!!
