Vintage Charm Sings in a Wonderful Traditional Home

Subtle vintage charm fills the walls of today’s traditional home by Bret Franks Construction. We begin our tour in the kitchen’s dining nook that’s wrapped in expansive windows with ticking stripe curtains. A colorful striped area rug provides color beneath an antique dining set with a lovely bench.

Another view reveals simple stained glass art within the heavily molded window frame. Wide base boards and crown molding are just some of the vintage architectural details you’ll find throughout the traditional home that’s located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The kitchen features custom white cabinetry with dark counter tops, all above the gleaming wood floor that runs throughout the home. A window above the kitchen sink provides a view into the living room, while you catch a glimpse of the dining room at left.

A marble counter top graces the large kitchen island with a small sink at the far end.

A coffered ceiling along with board and batten molding on the walls, creates elegant interest in the dining room with its vintage farmhouse table and black Windsor chairs. Double wooden doors lead outside. Note the use of a café curtain on the lower portion of the door for privacy.

The cozy family room reveals the kitchen pass-through window where you see a glimpse of the breakfast nook. Large folding doors open to the covered patio. Vintage charm is added with an old “horses” sign, a rooster table lamp, an old wooden bench and stool, and more.

The focal point of the home’s outdoor living space is a beautiful brick fireplace with the American eagle keeping watch over the mantel. A vintage glider and a pair of farmhouse rockers create a conversational area by the fire.

A four-poster bed graces the wheat-colored master bedroom with color-blocked curtains hanging at the French doors.

The garden tub in the master bathroom enjoys a cozy corner with a blue ceiling. Floral café curtains lend privacy when needed.

The vanity sports a marble counter top and a large round mirror. The stripe in the towel picks up the color of the red dogwood branches in the vase.
