Cozy Mountain House Gets a Gorgeous New Facelift

Modern country style comes to a cozy mountain house renovated by Meriwether Design Group and the result is nothing short of amazing. From gorgeous hardwood floors to painted paneled walls and everything in between, the design is classic and inviting.

A vaulted ceiling in the kitchen creates spaciousness while high-end finishes make it sparkle. The wood flooring is spectacular and the custom island takes center stage below the pretty pendant lights.

The dining nook enjoys green-painted paneling with a built-in banquette. Windows without treatments allow for full viewing of the outdoors.

Normally I’m not a fan of spiral staircases, but I love this one constructed of wood next to a stone fireplace. You’ll find touches of green and gray-blue mixed with creamy whites throughout this cozy mountain house.

Folding glass doors provide magnificent views of nature and the expanse of land.

A large sectional provides ample seating in the family room. White paneling adorns the walls and ceiling alike.

You’ll find the same wall and ceiling treatments in the bedrooms which are beautifully decorated. A pair of pendant lights provide night time reading. Soft linen drapes adorn the windows and soften the room.

Rust tones are introduced in this bedroom with an upholstered headboard that stretches the length of the wall.

Although professionally decorated, each room in the mountain house has a comfortable vibe.

The screened in porch has a gorgeous, vaulted wood ceiling with beautiful views. You can almost hear the birds sing as you imagine enjoying a cup of morning coffee out here.

  1. I like it all (except for the spiral stairs). So pretty yet comfortable looking. Wonderful home. Sure would be nice to sit out on that porch.

  2. Very pretty and livable but it’s a “no” from me on the spiral stairs and unadorned window in the meals area. Bare glass at night gives me the creeps.

    1. Me, too! I live alone, a nice house but not the best area. Best thing ever, complete blackout curtains on all my windows. I can open them in the morning and enjoy the sun light, but then close them at night- I walked outside to see what it wa like/what was visible from the outside- nothing! Love it.

  3. I love this house! It’s cozy but elegant, modern but traditional. It’s really perfect and quite frankly, I’d probably spend every minute on that screened in porch. Thanks for sharing!
