Charming Home Tour ~ It All Started with Paint
Today’s charming home tour marks the one-year anniversary of the Charming Home Series! I can’t believe it was actually a year ago when I launched these Sunday tours of beautiful homes across the country. Most of these houses belong to bloggers I’ve met over the years … some I’ve met face to face … others I’ve met online and hope to meet in person. Today’s tour features Linda from It All Started with Paint. She falls into the “hope to meet in person” category and I think it will one day happen, because she only lives 45 miles from me! I love her home and her warm spirit. As you tour the rooms in her house you’ll realize how talented she is!
Step inside the entry way of Linda’s home and you’ll see the stage is set for the rest of the tour. Linda pairs crisp white with rich color that’s classy yet makes you feel right at home. It’s a unique pairing of drama and coastal style, that Linda pulls off so beautifully. You’ll notice her attention to detail like the pop of lime green on the entry way bench and the graceful pattern of the light fixture overhead.
Your eye is easily carried into the living room where the white and navy theme continues, along with the board and batten treatment on the walls. A bold rug underfoot extends the linear pattern to the floor.
Another angle of the room shows the unique front window that welcomes plenty of natural light. I love the use of pattern throughout her home, as evidenced here with the rug and pillows.
In the dining room, the color orange makes a happy appearance. One of the things I love about Linda’s home, is the way one room seamlessly flows into the next. By using similar patterns and color, the transition from room to room is peaceful and pleasant. I also love her architectural elements like the arched doorways and unique windows.
For those of you that like darker cabinets, you’ll love Linda’s kitchen. Although my own kitchen is white, I appreciate the timeless beauty of a kitchen like Linda’s. Another pop of orange in the form of tulips brings cheer to the space.
Geometric patterns continue into the family room, where you’ll find softer colors and the same coastal vibe.
Linda’s work space embraces industrial influence. I love the saw horse table and the multi-tiered metal rolling cart that holds painting supplies.
You’ll find more navy and white in the screened porch.
A perfect place for entertaining or enjoying a family meal.
Orange reappears in Linda’s son’s room. I clearly remember when Linda revealed this room on her blog. I was so impressed with her use of color and pattern.
Linda has allowed me to provide you with a sneak peek of her daughter’s bedroom. She’s yet to give the full reveal but plans to show it on her blog within the next week or two! I already like what I see and can’t wait to enjoy the rest.
We close the tour with the master bedroom in soft blue and a fun patterned wall. Beautiful hardwood floors shine in the sun’s light creating a great space to wake up in! Be sure to visit Linda at It All Started with Paint. She’s one talented lady as you’ll find out when you check out all of her projects!
Hint … she’s the Mason Jar Queen!

I’m really loving navy and white right now too. Her home is so pretty.
I love homes that looks so neat and welcoming with colors well coordinated. 🙂
Linda can put together a room like nobody’s business. And if you only live 45 minutes away, YOU Go Girl!!! Go, just do it!
What a great home…which I have only seen bits and pieces of! I love her color scheme and the balance of dark and light colors. Beautiful!
