Christmas Table Setting: Wood and Dark Green

Every year I think about a new idea for my Christmas table setting. This year I landed on a theme of wood and dark green. If you visited my Christmas home tour on Monday, you saw a glimpse of this tablescape. (This post contains affiliate links.)

Today is Cozy Living Saturday, which means it’s the first Saturday of the month and I’m joining my cozy blogging friends for another round of inspiration. On Cozy Living Saturday, we share something that’s meaningful to us that month. Something that gives us a sense of warmth, joy, comfort, or inspiration. December always reminds me of my mother and her mad holiday decorating skills. She also set a festive table for Christmas and I try to do the same.

My Christmas table setting starts with wood chargers that were the inspirational spark for the entire tablescape. I found the beautiful chargers at Home Goods – just $25 for a pack of four! Usually just one wood charger costs that amount. I tried to find a second pack but unfortunately had no such luck.

The amber glasses and rustic flatware are from World Market (I don’t believe they carry either anymore). The green-striped table runner is from Deane’s, a local deli that also sells farmhouse wares. They have the best salads and sandwiches!

Crate and Barrel was the next source of inspiration for my wood and dark green Christmas table setting. I already had the dark gray Marin plates and grained albizia wood bowls from C&B.

A recent trip to C&B resulted in the dark green, round placemats and the Christmas tree napkins. But there was still something missing.

So I tucked gift card boxes in the wooden bowls at each place setting. It’s a nice little take-home present.

The centerpiece is a shallow reproduction dough bowl with greenery and metallic ornaments. I like the warmth and bit of sparkle of the bronze and gold ornaments.

And so, the table is set for a small, cozy gathering. Hubby and I have been enjoying dinners here by the Christmas tree. It’s been wonderful. I have to say, I enjoy the peace and quiet of being an empty nester.
