Classic Blue Breakfast Nook Ideas: Color in the Kitchen
Blue is becoming more popular with interior decorators, and you’re seeing it pop up more in kitchens, replacing the long-admired white kitchen. Complementary to the kitchen is a dine-in space which often takes on the same décor and color scheme. So today, enjoy this collection of classic blue breakfast nook ideas!
Stylish bentwood chairs cozy up to a white modern table in a small nook next to the blue and white kitchen. Although the room might be small in space, it’s large in style and charm.

What a light and bright dining nook with pretty French doors leading out to a patio! A banquette provides smart seating for the European style space.
A Scandinavian style dining nook is washed in mostly white, with a touch of classic blue seen on the chairs and the hutch.
Matching built-in corner hutches are painted classic blue in this charming little breakfast nook. My daughter Bridget is debating painting the corner hutch in her dining room. I think she should paint it to match the color she plans to paint on the lower half of the wall under the chair rail.
Another banquette sets the stage for a classic blue breakfast nook. I’m loving the back splash under the cabinets.
A quaint English breakfast nook is especially charming with its small leaded glass window and bold blue paint. Such a cheery and cozy spot to start the day.
Neutral paint is applied to the walls of this sunny little nook, which makes for a great opportunity to add a splash of blue on fabrics.

Last but not least, a cheery little nook pairs bold color with fun patterns. So cute!

I’ve always loved a cute breakfast nook – more so than a dining room. They’re typically smaller, and therefore cozier. Do you have a favorite of the ones shown here? I think the English one is my fave.

My favorite is the next to the last – with a rectangular table. Most examples seem to have a round table and to my eye, the squared-off banquette needs a similarly shaped table. Just one person’s opinion…
I also love a “nook” for dining due to its coziness. Of course, my need for a large eating area passed long ago. I’m sure families with children still require some space.
