Fantastic Fall Cottage Collection: Embrace the Colors of Autumn
Before the leaves make their final descent from the trees, I want to feature a fall cottage collection. Enjoy a variety of beautiful homes framed by fall colors on quaint streets or in idyllic meadows.
You know I always love a red house and look how pretty it looks with reddish-orange leaves on the nearby maple tree. Wouldn’t you love to take a peaceful walk around this neighborhood?
A tan and green clapboard cottage in Old Salem looks even cozier in the fall season. I’ve never been to this historic district in Salem-Winston, North Carolina, but I’ve added it to my travel bucket list. Let me know in the comment section below if you’ve been there.
A red Scandinavian style fall cottage reminds me of the little houses we saw during the Cottages of the Woods event in nearby Geneva, Illinois. This is about the size of retirement home I’d like to have. Not a lot to clean, but just roomy enough for two people.
Do you prefer a cabin style cottage? This one features the rusticity of wood siding with a bit of natural stone. The home is perfect for the woodsy location featuring beautiful autumn color.
A row of identical vacation cottages line a secluded path in a forested area. Each white cottage features a different color of trim. Looks like a cute little place to visit.
A perfectly reflected yellow cottage mimics the color of the turning leaves on the tree in the background. The smart design of this small charmer includes windows facing the water to take advantage of the waterfront view.
Fall foliage surrounds this super charming stone cottage. It just doesn’t get any cuter than this during the autumn season.
Would you like to live in a charming older home with a babbling brook running through your front yard? I love the front door and the beautiful yellow trees in the background.
Mossy rocks and golden leaves add interest to a little red shed in the woods. Although our lawn is covered with fallen leaves, there are still just as many still hanging on to the branches of the trees. I’m guessing they’ll all drop within the next two weeks.
Although I wouldn’t consider this beautiful home a cottage, I had to include it for its wonderful yellow color with burnt orange shutters that match the autumn leaves.
A red Swedish house is nestled at the end of a gravel drive, perfectly framed by colorful, leafy trees.
This quiet lane reminds me of the Cotswold villages we visited in the U.K. this past summer. Fall would be a wonderful time of year to visit England.
I hope you enjoyed today’s fall cottage collection. I wanted to get another post about the beauty of fall up on the blog before Christmas begins to take over the internet!
Thankyou so much for this beautiful fall cottage tour. It was just what I needed to realize I need to slow down and enjoy the season we are in right now. Our lives tend to move too fast and with Halloween just past we start to feel we need to rush into Christmas decorating and just give Thanksgiving a passing glance. As I am approaching my 76th birthday next month I have come to realize how important it,is to stay in the moment. Thanks for the remind er Jennifer.
These homes/areas are gorgeous!!
I have a crazy request. Would you be willing to post some beautiful Fall before/current pictures of the beautiful FALL AREAS in NC and TN affected by Helene? It is tragic and so forgotten by most because OUR lives can go on as normal. I read that the electric workers had to strike and stop working to get attention to the fact that the companies they work for (therefore they) have not been paid by FEMA since they began work. Larger companies can hold out longer for payment, smaller ones not so much. This is debunked by fact checkers who spilt hairs by saying “workers are not paid by FEMA.” Seriously?? At any rate, the situation in that beautiful FALL AREA is still devastating and we cannot allow it to be politicized. We CANNOT FORGET THEM.
Just beautiful! Don’t get a lot of tree leaf color change here in Houston.
Just the tallows, red oaks and Japanese maples are our main color change.
I love huge old tree’s and the cottages are all cute and different. I’ve been to Old Salem, Winston Salem. It is both interesting and fun to visit and the moravian cookies are delicious.
Thanks for the cottage journey, Jennifer. I definitely have a thing for cottages.
I love that cabin with the combination of natural wood siding and stone. I’ve spent some time online trying to find the term for that kind of siding and haven’t had any luck. Do you know what it is called?
Do you know the name of that natural wood siding used on the cabin on which it is combined with stone? I haven’t been able to find anything online.
You could show more and I would be happy!! Love seeing all the houses you show and these were so pretty with all the beautiful Fall trees.
