French Country Home in Vancouver

home tour January 16, 2022

Take a trip to Vancouver, Canada with me today to see an amazing French country home by Jenny Martin Design that whisks you away to Paris once you step onto the property. Inside and out, this house is a true stunner. (This post contains affiliate links – see my privacy policy.)

Step inside and a gorgeous staircase greets you. Custom molding on the wall breaks up all the white and adds needed texture and interest. Herringbone-patterned flooring adds to the unique look of the entryway.

The living room features more of the white and wood backdrop, along with numerous French doors leading to the outside spaces. An arched mirror commands attention above the beautifully carved fireplace mantel.

The expansive kitchen features a large wooden island with seating for five. A pair of gold pendant lights adds a bit of elegance to the white kitchen with wood beams and shelves.

Another view of the French country kitchen shows gold hardware on the cabinets and a glimpse of the amazing stove.

A pair of gold sconces add light over a shelved corner of the kitchen.

A quaint butler’s pantry provides additional storage.

Chairs in the dining area mimic the bar stools gathered around the island. A beautiful wood cabinet anchors one of the room while a sisal rug lends texture underfoot.

The family room wears neutral colors and is simply styled. I don’t know which I find more endearing, the porthole window or the trio of stringed instruments on the wall.

A handy library ladder makes ease of reach to storage baskets in the mudroom.

The light gray master bedroom enjoys a tufted headboard and beaded chandelier. The rug provides a pretty pattern and provides a cozy landing spot for feet in the morning.

This clawfoot tub reminds me of the one in my upstairs bathroom, which is painted the same color. You get a pretty view of the gardens when bathing in this tub.

The back patio is just as beautiful as the interior spaces with its slate floor, fire pit, Edison lights, and outdoor furniture.

This is a well done and stunning home but, strangely, I find it bland and lifeless.

Jennifer, you are right it is a gorgeous home and one I would love to own. The stove is to die for! It is though our version of French. Having lived and spent a lot of time in France I say that the room that comes closest is the lounge. You have a knack for picking the perfect properties to feature.
