Sunny Beach Style Cottage in Nashville

home tour January 26, 2020

Today’s tour might look like you’re at the beach, but you’re actually touring a sunny beach style cottage located in Nashville, Tennessee!

Perhaps the first thing that caught my eye is that the exterior color scheme is similar to my own house colors. Yellow, white, and turquoise. But then I noticed the charming porch!

Being that it’s Nashville, you can treat the outdoor spaces like the indoors. I love how the homeowners expanded the space of this home by utilizing more of the porch for everyday living.

There’s even room for an outdoor shower at the sunny beach style cottage. Lovely!

Inside, a modern loft makes great use of space in this one-story cottage. Lots of white paint is used to keep the rooms light and bright.

Furnishings are kept to a minimum to maximize an open airy feeling in the small home.

Just off the living room is the sunny, vintage style kitchen. It’s small but it’s so stinkin’ cute! From the light fixtures all the way down to the wood floor!

The kitchen even has my favorite SMEG refrigerator! I need one of those in my life. I’m sure it would solve all my problems (smile).

Lots of windows. Plenty of natural light. Perfect!

The dining nook is located off the opposite side of the living room and comes complete with a disco ball.

A wider angle shows the layout of the dining room next to the living room. The kitchen is to the left.

The bedrooms are just as charming as the rest of this sun-soaked Nashville home.

Off the living room is a small children’s bedroom that makes the best use of space with a simple bunk bed.

No room for a nightstand? Install sconce lighting for bedtime reading. And who doesn’t love a sloth?

The bathroom is small yet dramatic. If you think you can’t use dark colors in small rooms – think again. I do love the quirky wall and floor treatment!

The exterior of the sunny yellow beach cottage looks like a home out of the low country – one of my favorite places in the U.S. I’d rather live in a smaller house like this than a grand home, any day!

I hope you enjoyed today’s tour as much as I did. You can see even more photos of this charming beach style cottage by Crowell + Co. Interiors over at Houzz.

I’m with you. I love small homes so much more than large ones. They are so cozy.

Small homes are my favorite also. The cozy factor is important to me, as is the low maintenance factor. This one is just so cute – inside and out.
