A Pretty Pink and Green Kitchen for the Daring Decorator
Would you? Could you? Live with a pink and green kitchen? Pink isn’t typically chosen as a kitchen cabinet color, but this little charmer by Wise Design & Remodel is a great representation of pairing pink cabinets with rich green tiles.

When I was a kid, my favorite fireworks on 4th of July were the pink and green explosions. My best friend’s favorite color was pink, and mine was green. So we ooohed and ahhhed the most over the fireworks that paired our colors. And the funny thing was – that color combination was used the most for the patriotic holiday.

I like the way the pothos vine is trained to frame the top of the window above the apron sink. It’s a unique window treatment and now has me considering doing the same above my kitchen windows.

My daughter would love this kitchen; pink is her favorite color. The dark green tile adds dimension to the space and the floating wood shelves help break up the expanse of pink cabinetry.

A large wooden beam helps define the kitchen area while light barstools lend an airy touch to the room.

Little nooks at the end of the cabinets creates handy spaces for cookbooks and plants. And of course, the plants reinforce the secondary color of this pink and green kitchen.

Color aside, the kitchen has a great layout with efficient functionality. So what do you think? Would you choose a pink and green kitchen like this charming one?

Love the pink….without the green. Love the green…without the pink. The two together just don’t excite me.
I do like the trailing pothos. I remember touring St. Augustine long, long ago and in one of the old, old homes they had pothos hanging across the windows. We were told that the Spanish would use the pothos like curtains. The plants provided a bit of privacy but also let in the sun, especially during the winter months. I thought that was rather ingenious and resourceful. we have some variations of pothos that grow up and in the trees here in Marion County, Florida. The leaves can get to be almost a foot in size!
So cute! I love the pink and green together.
Just so happy to see anything other than white, beige and gray- although I find those great in certain homes or rooms, too many times the overall look is “Designed to sell”. It takes a very talented decorator (including the amateurs who sometimes get it better than the pros) to make that welcoming and comfortable. When I moved into my current house ten years ago, it was done in greige downstairs, and the bedrooms upstairs done in pepto bismal pink and arsenic green, lol. I went with a warm yellow throughout. Then went all warm white, which I still have. The best thing about my white is, it works with pretty much anything I might want to try.
I think the best advice is to make your home your own, enjoy it while you can. when you move, its up to the next person/family to see and create their own style.
BTW, with crazy Covid house prices and demands, I could have left everything hot pink and sick green and still got three times what I bought this place for, lol.
I love this, and think it’s charming, creative, and a relief to get away from safe white. I’d LOVE to see the rest of the house!
I’m in love! I’ve always wanted a pink kitchen!
