Architectural Details: Charming Home Tour

Charming Home Series, home tour September 17, 2017

Today’s home tour has unique architectural details that I think you’ll find quite appealing. Not only does this home enjoy good bones, but it’s beautifully decorated by Lauri Rossi Interiors. Take a look and see for yourself!

Note the transom windows above doorways in the living room (and the dining room beyond). Painted in black, the transoms stand out instead of fading into the background.

Beautiful furnishings fill the room with personality.

A rich, black mantel is the focal point of the television room. Moldings that wrap the room create additional architectural details that delight the eye.

I had to share this picture from the architectural details home. I store a lot of my vintage books hidden away and would love to have them out on display. This little ladder is the perfect way to keep pretty books in full view where they belong.

A bright and cheery breakfast nook awaits with rolls and muffins. A set of corner windows allows early morning light to flood the room. A square, contemporary metal light fixture pairs well with the round table and wicker dining chairs.

A second fireplace appears off one end of the kitchen. I love the pot hanging over the fire and the brick insert. Really makes the space feel warm and cozy.

Farmhouse with architectural details

Transom windows crown the open doorway into the dining room. Classic Windsor chairs hug a farmhouse table.

A pretty pendant light hangs in the hallway, filled with architectural details like paneled doors and crown molding.

A coffered ceiling is the crowning touch to the built-in cabinet with glass-front doors.

The upper hallway displays a row of windows allowing expansive views of the outdoors.

Light blue and tan create a serene escape from the world in the master bedroom.

A dark wall in a children’s room adds a bit of drama.

At the end of the day, take a relaxing dip in the soaker tub complete with crystal chandelier.

I love all of the details. I will need to study this more thoroughly to get some ideas for my own home.

Score! You have found yet another fabulous house that is actually livable. Love all the light, airiness of the house and the colors used to accent the architectural details. I keep adding these home tours to my Pinterest board.

Love the idea of displaying books on a ladder, but where can you find one as beautiful as is shown. It’s actually its own piece of furniture, and an amazing piece.
