Inside the farmhouse kitchen, you’ll find cheery yellow cabinets and trim work. Dark gray tones down the bright color and clean lines create classic farmhouse style.

Open shelves, pendant lights, and a school house clock add farmhouse details to the sunny kitchen.

My grandmother had curtains on the open doorway of her living room like this. As a child I thought they were so elegant looking and was convinced my grandmother was one of the best decorators in the world.

A bit of Early Americana creeps into the living room with its wing chairs and painted built-in bookcase.

Note the unique drawers below the bookcase. They’re all the same except for a small trio.

The yellow hue from the kitchen makes its way into the large living room with its farmhouse table and captain’s chairs.

One last thing … the winner of the book, Historic Charleston and the Lowcountry is Margaret D!
Way too much yellow for me. It’s a lovely home but the bright yellows and greens on an every day basis is not or me. Please keep posting tours – I love peeking into other peoples’ homes.
What a shame to over use color like that in such a potentially beautiful space – in my opinion. Not my taste.
I have to agree….too much yellow for my taste. Having said that, if they like it, more power to them. To each his own….
What a great place to live, it has lots of possibilities for someone to make it oh so cozy. Thanks and have a great day.
