Girls’ Weekend at a Cozy Lake Condo
A cozy lake condo in Wisconsin proved to be a great destination point for my recent girls’ weekend with my daughters. They needed a break from their kids; I just wanted time to relax and unwind. Since it’s “Cozy Living Saturday,” (the first Saturday of the month), this cozy condo in Lake Geneva is a perfect post for today.
The condo is located across the street from Lake Geneva in this pretty two-story red house. The first floor is a wine bar and the entire second floor was our home for the weekend.
A pretty front door served as our entrance to the condo on the second floor. You might remember that I posted a walking tour of Lake Geneva a couple weeks ago. I still need to share the rest of the homes from that excursion.
I found this cozy lake condo on VRBO and it didn’t disappoint! It was super clean and super cute.
Here’s another view of the cozy living room that faces the lake. You can see the golden leaves of the trees through the windows. Lucky for us, it was peak season for fall colors.
Attention to detail is evident throughout the Lake Geneva condo. The black floor vases create visual impact in this cozy little corner by a pair of sliding French doors. I don’t know if you can tell, but the floors are painted throughout.
The living room flows right on into the kitchen and dining area. Another set of sliding doors provides awesome views of the lake outside.
A pair of wooden bar stools cozy up to an overhang at the end of the kitchen counter. Every inch of space was carefully used.
The cozy lake condo kitchen was fully equipped but I have to confess that we didn’t do any cooking. There are plenty of great restaurants in the town of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and most of them were within walking distance.
You can see the hallway leading to the bedrooms and bathroom from the kitchen island. Note the arched detailing of the book shelf in the living room at left. The bulletin board at right had all the information we needed for WiFi, check-in and check-out, and other pertinent info.
The coastal style bathroom is the first door on the right. It’s small and cute and somehow we managed to not fight over the bathroom despite there being three females.
At the end of the short hallway is the bedroom with a large bunkbed. There are two things on my priority list when it comes to choosing a vacation rental – cleanliness and comfortable beds. Location and decor are also pretty important. The lakefront condo checked all my boxes!
We let my daughter Bridget have the largest bed since she’s 8 months pregnant and was in desperate need of good sleep. Her two young boys stayed at home with their dad for the weekend.
Let’s head out to the deck which was a big reason for choosing this condo for our girls’ weekend. The deck is large and you can see most of the lake from up here.
Here are views of the lake from the deck. So beautiful!
The sandy beach is filled with vacationers during the summer months. We opted to visit the lake during the fall so it would be quieter. Not to mention with the virus on the rise, less people seems safer.
Here’s the view looking to the west from the condo’s deck.
Just a block away from the lake and condo is the Inspired Coffee Shop, which has a unique mission. Seems like we always manage to find a cozy place for coffee on our trips.
Like my hometown, Lake Geneva has turned older homes into charming shops. We were able to walk to all of them. This is Delaney Street Mercantile where I found teddy bears for Charlotte Joan and Cove (currently still in Bridget’s womb). The bears were covered in shaved alpaca fur and were so very soft.
This store is right next door and had lots of vintage and antique finds.
And a couple more older homes turned into commercial space. The entire town is so charming and if you haven’t visited, I encourage you to do so. You won’t be disappointed.
Whew! That was a lot of pictures. You can book the lakefront condo on VRBO. It’s so charming and comfortable – I highly recommend it.
Now it’s time to visit my cozy living friends at their inspirational links below. Be sure to welcome Marty at A Stroll Thru Life. She’s new to our group this month!

What a fun town to visit and the condo was perfect. How fun to be able to have a get-away with the girls.
Hi Marty! We hadn’t planned a weekend trip but my daughter Bridget wanted a break before delivering her third baby boy in just a couple of weeks. She’ll probably need another getaway a couple months later! 🙂
Love the bedding and the painted and patched wood floors. I’ve considered painting ours and would love to know what others are using and what holds up. Hubby and I have used AirBNB with fantastic results too. I’ve never heard of the one you used. You’re so luck to have a lakeside retread and the weather is still holding out so that’s a bonus.
Hi Dawn!
I use both VRBO and Airbnb. Oftentimes, a rental place is available on both apps but you’ll find it cheaper on one (don’t know why). So I always check both apps for the best price on a vacation rental. That’s my travel tip of the day. LOL. I think we’re having the same warm weather as you. It’s so nice out!
So nice that you were all able to get away together! And what a lovely place to escape to! So pretty!
Hi Kristi! It was a really nice weekend. Love spending time with my girls! 🙂
We all need to get away from time to time and Lake Geneva looks like the perfect place to do it! And, the home where you stayed is lovely!
Hi Doreen!
We’re trying to travel more – your home town is one place I’d like to visit. It looks so quaint!
What a fabulous little get away. The AirBNB was perfect, and the deck was the icing on the cake. I will definitely add Lake Geneva to my buck list. Have a great weekend, Jennifer, and thanks for sharing.
It’s a great place to visit, Miche. I’m sure you’ll love it if you decide to go!
What a stunning place! And genius to go during the fall! Now I have something else to add to my bucket list!
🙂 LInda
Have you never been to Lake Geneva? You really need to go – at least once. The summers are crazy busy there though. And in high school it was a party town because all the Illinois kids would go to the bars there due to Wisconsin’s lower drinking age. LOL.
Hi Jennifer, I think you’re letting the cat out of the bag about the Illinois kids. I may have run into you at some point back in the day!? Lake Geneva was THE place to be, and if my parents had known, I’d still be grounded!
Such a lovely weekend get away with your daughters, and lucky Bridget to have that beautiful room to herself. I love the rug in the living room and the little kitchen island and stools. Did some pinning on this one, and didn’t even miss the chandelier! Makes me want to book this place with my daughter and granddaughters, when the oldest gets home from college. Thanks for a fun post.
It looks like a great place to spend some time and with your daughters really made it special.
What a wonderful little getaway. Love seeing all the fall colors and the lake!
How fun for all of you! Lake Geneva has always been a favorite destination for me❤
What an adorable house and that view is absolutely gorgeous! I can’t think of a better girls trip than that. Enjoy the rest of the fall season, Jennifer!
