Modern Maine Farmhouse on Peter’s Cove
Maine is a state that’s on my bucket list to visit. I’ve never been there even though I think I’ve been to every other northeastern state. Today I’m featuring a modern Maine farmhouse by Banks Design Associates LTD & Simply Homes that’s the perfect locale for enjoying sunshine and a waterfront view.

The white front porch features unique light fixtures with a cozy garden bench. Note to self: start shopping for new outdoor lights.

Step inside this Maine farmhouse and you’ll find traditional details like the gorgeous staircase paired with modern touches like the fisherman painting and fabric on the wing chair.

A fresh coastal look in the living room is a nod to the Peter’s Cove bay area just outside. Blue and white stripes on the rug set the stage for more blue and white patterns in the tastefully decorated room.

You’ll find more blue and white inspiration in the charming kitchen. Love the light fixtures!

Beautiful furniture is found throughout the home. Over the years, I’ve learned not to skimp too much on furniture. If you buy sturdy, classic pieces, they’ll last a long time providing value over the years.

You’ll also find some fun artwork like the framed vintage bathing suit picture.

And now – let’s talk about the amazing views this home enjoys.

Enjoy the great outdoors from the comfort of a large screened-in porch with more farmhouse lighting and a ceiling fan to keep things cool during the summer heat. The vaulted ceiling lets the hot air rise.

I love lots of trees around a home – not only for the shade they provide, but they’re wonderful for the environment. We added about 10 evergreens to our yard last year and plan to add 5 or more this year. We’re using them to make a natural fence.

Doesn’t this look like the idyllic place to live? I’ve never been to Maine but hope to visit in the next couple of years. I’ve been to New Hampshire and Vermont and both are lovely.

Maine is one of our very favorite places to visit. In fact we considered moving there after I retired but decided it’s too far from family. When you visited NH did you go to Portsmouth? Another favorite of ours.
This is just beautiful, the surroundings, windows and outdoor spaces. I have never been to Maine but I would love to go.
Home is beautiful and setting couldn’t be more picturesque! Lovely!
Just love all the blue and white. You just can’t beat that color combo. I especially like the two wing chairs with that fabulous fabric. Everything about this home screams beautiful.
Just looks like another designer, for sale place. Not a real home. Honestly, I couldn’t see beyond that, how i could make it my home…of course it is way beyond what the average homebuyer today could afford, especially with the ridiculous interest rates.
This home looks beautiful and comfortable. I especially like the warm wood tones throughout so everything isn’t white like in some of the farmhouse homes that are shown these days on multiple blogs.
That’s the one!
Lovely! I really like this one Jennifer. Thanks for sharing.
So beautiful !!! All those beautiful painted houses ! I was wondering which paint you use to paint the houses’ outside so they last a few years ! It’s not something you do every two years ! Thanks a lot ! Greetings from Belgium
